Us millennials who had this music in high school were honestly the last generation to experience truly great and unique generational music. I miss it every day. It was a magical time to be a teenager and I feel bad for the generations after us who will never know what it’s like pre RU-vid or Facebook. Finding your friends through music was organic and special.

I'm 32 and my brother, Phillip, introduced me to them when I was 15. Phillip died in 2006 and I miss him all the time.They're still my favorite band. Listening to their old songs brings back amazing memories with him, being young and carless, that moment in your life where you feel invincible. Every time they release something new, there's this bittersweet feeling; I love listening to them progress and I wonder what he would think of the album or song. I think he would have loved The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me. The song, "Brother's" always makes me think of him. He was about to go into the military when he died. I really appreciate it's anti-war message-- "Just a few mother's sons will never really be enough/Not till half of our names are etched out in a wall/And the other half ruined by the things we saw " I'd do just about anything to see them live, to tell them what they mean to me, that it goes back to losing someone I love, and that I'll never stop listening.

I am still lowkey Emo in my 30s, but it's... The quiet things that no one ever knows.

it’s 2023 and i’m still watching this. after all this time, all the bad news, all the things that have happened, i still can’t get over this band. i love their music. over a decade now, my first favorite band.

Turned 40 and this track makes me feel young again. The lyrics mean something different today than it did in the past. I think of all the Quiet moments that I have let past or wish I said when i had the chance and now gone. I feel the screams of this song as how I feel and wish I can scream into the past to change those wasted moments.

I was a senior in high school back in '06. This song was my hit , hell, this whole album kicks ass. I remember one day crusing with my best friend , my brother from another mother Anthony (R.I.P) and jamming to this song in my dad's impala ..oh the memories :) :( ❤

I found this song playing on NHL 2004. One of my favorite games and I still play it. This plays when you win the Stanley Cup at the end. Used to play with my best friend and he always picked this song to play during the menu screen.

Is anyone else transported back to a time when things were simpler but we didn't know it at the time? Yeah same.

I don't care how so many people ignore or not even know this great music, I'm glad to have been a teenager during the time when this song came out. Us Millennials sure got a heck of a lot of amazing unique bands and solo artists during our childhood to teenage years!

Always will hold this song dearly, something about it just makes it so haunting..and everytime I hear it I start to feel okay yet so sad at the same time.

NHL 2004 changed my life. This song band and album are my all time favorites. How can u go against Brand New's creativity? Scary thing is they're prob one of the most underrated bands in our generation, people who haven't listened to them are missing out. I use to play this album at work and people thought it was too hardcore...sad really...u wanna hear hardcore music? lol

Almost 40, and still dig this band, and this song!! Nothing changes, with music, just your age!! It's 2020, and I graduated high school in 2000!!

One thing I really appreciate about many bands of this era -- Brand New, Blindside, Underoath, mewithoutYou -- is that they named their songs with a lot of originality. Ironically, this is an exception (because they actually say the songs name in the lyrics) but since the name of this song is also about a profound concept, that can be overlooked without invalidating my point. Just take a look at the song names in the discography of these bands and you'll know what I mean, e.g. "A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White" is just one of the many, many examples.

Its like we thought the songs were relatable when we first heard them, and then 20 years later they truly are...

As a kid, I was always pretty open to all different kinds of music, but I never really had emo friends, so I rarely heard music like this. I started dating a girl when I was like 17 or so and she gave me a handful of her burnt mixes. This was on one of them and I only really discovered how much I loved it after we had broke up. First heard this when I was 18. Chilling in Hot Topic 😆 I had an intention of buying some clothes. But I gravetated to the music player. I put those headphones on and started scrolling through the many genres of rock. And when I seen this album cover. The title of the band. It grabbed my attention. I put this song on. And ever since Ive had it on my playlist. I'm 31 now

MTV2 use to have this show called Control Freak where viewers would vote for their favorite videos they would want to see on air and the one with the highest percentage would then be the one that would follow after the current video that was on. That was the first time I heard this song and it was AWESOME!! I was like that's quite a title for a music video. Pretty lengthy lol. I was still relatively new when I got into this sort of music but man it was just the best, Miss the early 2000s with a PASSION!! Oh and I just gotta say. I LOVE HOW THE INSTRUMENTAL SOUNDS AT 2:12. I asked myself when I was young HOW THEY MAKE IT SOUND SO AWESOME LIKE THAT?!? My young ears found enjoyment at a young age :D

1. classic song, classic group. 2. got me through my high school years (2002 - 2006) along with tbs, senses fails and dashboard. 3. i believe finch did the "car wreck, later discovered dead romantic story" plotline better on "what it is to burn" (plus the sky effects) 4. the girl in quiet things is such a hottie. when she looks at the car like a deer in headlights all innocently, she has my heart.

2012. I remember getting my parents to drive to my first weed plugs house at 15 before going to Costco saying I was gonna pick up some stuff. I met this local dude on eBay selling metal patches. That was maybe my second time picking up and less than 10th time smoking. I hotboxed the car and just used the air freshener, I’m sure it still danked but my parents said nothing. Played this song on my iPod at the dark Costco parking lot. Will always cherish that memory when times were a lot simpler.
