Umx A10 is my first plane since I was 14; I’m 24. Crashed on landing on maden, but after a glue job it’s AMAZING. Surprising how fast and smooth. Handles wind great on 3S

I wish this had a cheap(ish) rtf version... similar to the carbon cub s+ package.

Even though I served in a Marine Corps Fighter Attack squadron (VMFA-542) while in Vietnam (April - Dec. 1965) and the squadron flew F4 Phantoms the A-10 is my favorite jet. It is the jet that the Marine Corps should have deployed for ground support but to my knowledge never did. As for this RC model it is just to fast for my abilities. As a new RC pilot with 76 year old reflexes I'm challenged enough now with my UMX Turbo Timber. And as a category I'm much more interested in high wing trainers and bi-planes than I am EDFs. Lots of fun to watch though.

Love geeking out with you. Ok first, I totally like the desert camo over the ice, especially since I just got an F-15 which is in ice camo. Second, big selling point for me is that it comes in one piece, which means I could store/transport it in the box. I rather have my small planes in boxes, so I could just stack them in the car and not have to worry about damage, hence carrying more with me. Third, I HAD to preorder, following your links of course, and really, it's not that bad. For a little over $200, you get the plane, two G2 batteries, and two IC2 to IC3 adapters to use with the awesome S2200 charger (think you forgot the link for the IC2 to IC3 adapter). Seems like I'm the biggest geek in the field, teaching the old timers about the new stuff. Hahaha... I tell them to watch TheRCSaylors on RU-vid... and I show them the sticker on my planes. HAHAHA Big thanks to God for Spektrum technology!!!

I wish you would completley explain what comes with these planes. In the box. Do they need Batts, and charger? Is it a battery charger included with the plane, and trans.

I have this hanging on desert camo 550 cord at an angle of attack that looks like it's attacking an armored vehicle (which is the Warthog's party piece, though it can do much else besides). Looks cool. Finally got my first IC2 smart batteries today (FedEx was FrustratEx on that shipment), but I'm still working on it. I ordered a couple adapters today, so hopefully soon I can fly it. :) Also, I have a DX-6e, but I've decided that when I get the resources, I'll be getting an NX-8.

I can't wait to fly this.

How does this plane compared to the umx citation?

Fast, and love the camo. Small, but not to small & flies well. Though doesn't seem to like to go slow something a newby might find more comfortable with. Glad to see smaller batteries. Goooood review. ⚓⚓💖👍☸👍⚓⚓.

Hahaha, I finally had a minute I thought the wind might be low enough to fly the Night Vapor around the cul de sac. It was ok for a few minutes, but the wind was gusting a little, moving the thing around. Then the wind got a little sporty and I couldn't really keep the little guy under control. I love that little plane / kite thing. :)

I am really curious how the handling is compared to the old UMX a-10? I had the original UMX a-10 and found it rather difficult to fly. I am what I would consider in intermediate flyer of dual motor, but I struggled with the a-10. Great video and happy to see a new UMX!

Spektrum failed by not adding a JST plug to this.

Nice flight review, I wish they would of extended the carbon into the nose area, this was a weak area on the original and also on this one as can seen in the Pilot Ryan review of this plane. Looks like the next shipment is not until June but I found away around that, just find a hobby shop that is a Horizon dealer and get on their mailing list and chances are they well get a few of these in about the time all these reviews come out, I received a notice yesterday that my hobby shop got a few of these in so I have one on reserve. Well be picking it up on Friday and be flying it Friday

I just bought this plane today and I noticed the same thing about the full throttle volume being lower.. also if you look at the battery connector the data connection to the flight controller is not terminated.. so the flight controller does not read full smart data off of the battery.. in fact to me the flight controller looks like an exact copy of the flight controller that is installed in the citation other than the battery connector.

Love the Hawg, an incredible aircraft, equally love this apart from it's speed. Yep you can throw that little aircraft around at speed but just feel it needs to be able to fly slower to look more realistic in the air. How does it handle at slower speeds?

Hmmm...I know you were not a fan of the original, but I think the one you tested had a bad motor out of the box. What all is changed on this generation? The 3S capability definitely makes it a bullet. Btw, for my money I like the grey camo scheme a bit better but this one looks good, too.

Nate, I got this UMX A10 and 2 gen 2 Smart 850mah batteries. How do you charge theses batteries, with out special adapters?

I prefer smaller planes because I like to take off and land on my street, which is about 100 meters and ends with my house right in the middle of the cul-de-sac. I really love this plane but my concern is landing distance needs. I need to be able to safely go from treetops to my driveway in 100 meters - do you think this can do it?

What are the odds of this surviving as a first plane for someone that has a fair amount of quadcopter experience? Would I be better off getting something slower to get a feel for landings and take-offs?
