Every time Brandi Carlile does a cover of another artist's song, she always improves it. If I were a musician, and I wrote an original work that Brandi Carlile covered, I would be both flattered for her thinking that my work was worthy of her voice, and I would be envious at the same time for not being able to sing my music like she does.
