I tend to lean into my own colour pallet when making aesthetic boards to help create imagery when I’m brain dumping information, usually in a Pinterest board. Now, I’m a winter so no “neutrals” per say, lots of black, deep blue and ever green and bright colours like red, magenta and orange, very limited white/grey. I am kind of worried this looks too “mature” for a reasonably “kid friendly” project (think: never lands lost boys, the Disney version but instead of the muted colours think of dyed wool blues, oranges, reds, yellows and green with a tiny grey tabby kitten in the centre and fire light hitting it against a dark hardwood floor or a crisp white bed sheet) It certainly gets my themes/imagery across, it just tends to lean very dark 😂😂😂

This is so helpful and I definitely need to give each of my colors a job! Can you use a more bold color as your “neutral” that you use more often? I have a darker teal color that I typically go to.

If that is the case then I would maybe make that your main color if you tend to use that more often. You could use it as a neutral but I would have another lighter color that you could interchange as well for some diversity there. We want to make sure that you have the right balance all around so that you palette feels good!
