Actually a lot of people ragged on Bosa and many even said to let him go. He certainly did not prove he is worth 30 plus million last year. Aiyuk is under contract for 14.2 million this year. The 49ers are under no obligation to re-do his deal this year.
It's true that BA has stated that his first choice is to play for the Niners. But in the same breath, he said he is perfectly fine with playing for another team. Maybe he said this for leverage, or maybe he feels so hurt and disrespected that he would just assume start over with a new team that "wants" him, even if they suck.

It's just way too easy and way too tempting to post something that's going to bite you sooner or later. Definitely something to avoid for anyone in the midst of something like contract negotiations.
Grew up and still am a big NHL hockey fan, and baseball as well, only got into football maybe 5 or 6 years ago, give or take, but I gotta say I’m looking forward to the NFL season way more than the other sports! Also, take it as u want it, but Aiyuk has been an absolute turn off for me. I get wanting to get paid what u think ur worth, but his antics have been immature and childish. This combo has always been symbiotic. BA thrives on creating narrow windows with minor adjustments and body posture. Purdy can exploit those openings with superb anticipation and accuracy. He won’t find that capability many places. It was sure wasted on Garoppolo.

Aiyuk is pulling the typical “I don’t want to honor the contract I signed, and my feelings will be hurt if you make me.”. Matt Stafford is doing the same things to the Rams. I can’t respect anyone who negotiates a contract, the whines later, rather than when the contract is near expiration. It’s even more disgusting when their current contract has set them and their family for life.

I think it's important to recognize that a player is partly getting paid for past performance. Players on rookie contract don't get a big paycheck until that contract is up. Think of it as "back pay".
I know I am in the minority but yes they should trade him. He is not worth 30 million for the production he give. You can find a replacement. One thing the Pats did all those years is they never caved to players demands they just cycled guys in an out with very few exceptions. Trade to Washington for2 second round picks or a 1 and 3rd. Washington has years to go to be good.

I think the clearest illustration of who needs whom more, is Purdy's rookie season. Brick comrs off of the bench, steps into a game cold, and lights it up! Then he goes on to break the Rookie QB Passer rating record. Question: how much time did Purdy have to work with the WR's? He was running the show team in practice every week, no 1st string reps, and he immediately balled out. Now go back and watch Purdy's Iowa St. games. He was winning with college WR's that were average at best. Aiyuk is expendable!
No. They can't. I don't know about you, but I watched him tear the league up for two years now. His stays are best for long passes. Mid range passes he is top ten. Should have been MVP. Lamaar is a trash QB. Dude is more like a running back who throws the ball. Joke choke artist. Purdy is literally a top 5 QB. Easily.
I still vote trade BA:. He has over played his hand. People who think too much of themselves in a team sport need to go elsewhere. Everyone is replaceable. Going to be very disappointed in Niner management if they cave to BA...not a good message. David you act almost like BA's agent. Niners paying big money to half the team is an Rx for heading to also ran territory. Pay fair in context of position and performance. BA is not the only guy in his position plus has highly performing teammates in corrallary positions, say TEs.
@tulsavol6653 you clearly aren't paying attention. BA is trying to get fair market value but the problem is the price has gone up. Everyone knew that Jefferson and others would reset the market yet the team decided not to get this done last year. Also, trading BA now after the draft does us no good. Future picks won't help us get a SB this year. I agree deciding to pay so many guys top dollar isn't a good recipe but neither is trading top talent like our WR1 in our window. Everyone needs to be patient because there is still time before the deadline. It's better for the team to get this done now because the price will be even more next year and Brock's deal needs to be the sole focus next year.
Watched every snap last season. BA is good, but also saw him drop a TD right in his hands. He did have a great ricochet catch in the Lions game (to be fair BP didn’t overthrow it, the defender bumped BA which slowed him down while the ball was in the air - without that the ball would have been on the money) but takes nothing away from BA catching the ricochet. When your QB is accurate and putting the ball in your hands most of the time, you don’t need to be a great receiver though BA did some good blocking down the field at times. More than receivers, niners need an o-line to give BP the time to let a play develop downfield
