My brother and I were fooled by the cover and tagline back when we were kids. Sometimes, when we see a movie with fishmen in it, we'll say "They're inside out... And STILL ALIVE". Been 20 years and still bitter.
What gets me is how the poster doubles down on this. You could get away with saying the tag line is just metaphorical or something... But then "Be warned. You will actually see a man turned inside out."

"This video has been flagged because it contains mild swear words, or cartoon boobs. If it contained fake news, insane conspiracy crap or blatant antisemitism that would be fine."
The instant I saw the title I thought "Man this version of One Piece is a lot darker than I recall. (As there was a "Fishmen Island Arc" after the Time Skip)
If you are a fan of movies that introduces new characters every 10 minutes just to kill them off, you should review "Aliens vs. Predators: Requiem". The 5 people who were in the theater with me started laughing when the movie kept doing that.
I remember watching the movie on TV when I was a little kid. The scene where the guy in the reeds is killed by the fish monsters disturbed me so much that when I was near lakes and ponds I always thought I was being watched. And something jumps out at me and chops me up.
Fishmen. All I can think of from that word is the Deep Ones from The Shadow Over Innsmouth by H. P. Lovecraft. Is this meant to celebrate the new Color Out Of Space movie? 12:18 THANK YOU!
finally! after 30 years! THIS is the movie i was looking for! every time i went to check for it, all i had in mind was Hummanoids from the Deep. saw this during a horror film fest on french canadian tv. 5 or 6 movies on a saturday in summertime. "Les humanoides de la mer" and "Le continent des hommes-poisson"... two different films... now i reclaim some memories! thanx man!
It looks like a fun movie, also i had to confirm to the YT gods that i was okay with minor swearing in a review of an exploitation film that i actively searched for. It's a funny old world. Thanks for posting the informative and entertaining video.
"From a Whisper to a Scream" also has Cameron Mitchell in it and is a Anthology type movie around a framing story with Vincent Price, worth a look to complete the Cameron Mitchell collection of Schlock festival
This is the first time RU-vid gave me the "inappropriate and offensive to some audiences" warning before letting me watch the video. Not sure if that's a good thing so...congrats??? EDIT: And thanks to a glitch it won't let me click on the "I want to proceed" to watch it. Thanks, RU-vid, for continuing to insist I stop watching your content.
I feel like you need to start making a new sound effect when somebody gets raked by claws, Monty Python Black Knight's "TIS BUT A SCRATCH!" LOL Also there is no movie fish monster which looks worse then Creature from the Haunted Sea, AKA that thing you see in the Malcom In The Middle intro that looks like a scuba diving Muppet.
The Screamers cut is by far the better movie! Just total fun and laughs the entire way through. Not bad effects either. The fishmen didn't look nearly as bad as I first anticipated, and the scene with Jose as a transmutated fish-man is actually really good.
I've heard part of the reason Corman added the additional footage in the beginning is because the initially release under the title "Screamers" with the inside-out tagline got people seriously pissed off that it never actually happened in it, so the living dead guy which attacks the woman was added to make at least a token attempt to plug that hole.
I'd be curious to see both cuts of the film since IMDB says about 30 minutes was cut out for the added gore scenes in its American counterpart. And that poster art is freaking amazing
Brandon you never cease to amaze me. Since you love talking about Kaiju movies (a branch of tokusatsu), and you love talking about cult monster movies, you should look into reviewing Shin Kamen Rider. That’d be a fun review to watch
I have a movie suggestion that not a lot of people are familiar with, it’s called The Ninth Configuration. If you haven’t heard of it please look into it and watch it!! Its my favorite movie.
This version of Screamers has stuck with me ever since I first saw the ads in the newspaper as a kid and has haunted me since the 70s. This video has put a lot of imaginary horror dreams to sleep. 😅
Aw man.... I always wanted to rent Screamers at the video store, but my friends didn't want to see someone turn inside out. Little did any of us know that renting Screamers would have given them exactly that.
Man, there is a lot of shit going on right now; a volcano starts exploding, fishmen attack the diving bell, the cave starts collapsing, science experiments falling from the sky, giant gorilla on the loose, fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, 40 years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, MASS HYSTERIA!!!
3:28 I remember that sound effect was also used in an episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus, now all I gotta do is figure out which sound effects album it comes from...
Love you're channel always awesome content!! Please tell me what where you got the decapitation clip from? I've been looking for it since I first heard it on your channel last year sometime! 😈 💀 Keep coming with tha great riffviews.... 💀😈
5:01 I love how so far it seems like everybody has died from being lightly pawed to death. XD 16:13 "The Fishmen and their Queen"? You mean Mother Hydra?
I saw this movie when i was 10 on video as Screamers back in 92 and thought it was ok then saw the uncut version years later on DVD. Does this movie remind anyone of Dr Moreau, Lovecraft's Innmouth Creature from Black Lagoon and the Batman TAS episode Tyger Tyger (remember that episode where a mad scientist turns the lovely Selina Kyle into a really hot literal cat-woman?)?
I got almost to the end of this video before I finally realized, I'm pretty sure I watched this a few years ago on RU-vid. But I could have sworn it was called "Humanoids from the Deep". I do remember the "Dr. Moreau" similarities...
That chubby bald guy in the very beginning is totally dubbed by veteran hannah-barbara voice actor Don Messick (Droopy Dog, Original Scooby-Doo, Ratchet in G1 Transformers)
I watched this and was hoping you would do this one. and thankyou for the info on the movie before you do your thing each time. this movie left me with so many questions after i watched it.
When New World Pictures Reedits A Foreign Movie, YOU KNOW ITS GONNA BE GOOD Edit: I Was Talking About How It Turned 'The Return Of Godzilla' Into 'Godzilla 1985'
Hay Brandon I love your videos. You have introduced my to many amazing films. Im working on a Horror/Comedy horror comic as a throwback to EC comics from the 50s. I was wondering if I could give you a cameo?
Movie I found staring Rotty Piper called ( hell comes to frogtown) made in 1988 makes very little sense feels like a soft porn but the porn part never happens.
I am definitely tracking this one down and the other movies in the trilogy. Haven't seen a good adventure horror with a good layer of cheese added in for a long time lol
