Brandy may not remember this (she was about 7 or 8 years old) but I still remember her walking around church with my first born baby when I came to visit my mother (whose name was Brandi) for the first time after I had my baby. She was always singing in church and we all knew she was going to be a singer. Hard to believe she's a full grown woman with a child of her own. It’s part of the natural aging process it’s what happens especially with females as they age, her voice is still amazing but it’s not what it was when she was in her prime. Her teen and early 20s voice the original recordings weasel her best peak era. A deeper voice isn’t compared to that uniquely sweet youthful angelic voice she once possessed

As a lifelong Brandy fan, I keep being amazed at how incredible her vocals are. She is one singer who keeps growing and innovating while keeping true to her signature sound (how she does this I don't know). This is the smoothest, powerful, mature-sounding, classiest rendition of Almost Doesn't Count I have heard from her ......and it's LIVE. I'm just blown away by her entire set.

@@butterflylamb526 it’s not the same voice as with age females voice changes and it’s not the same tone, it was already perfected when she sang and recorded these songs in her prime. Her sweet, angelic, tone with piercing clairty was in her teens and early 20s. She will always be amazing but can’t compare to her prime.

Just watching this for the first time a year later. In the 90's, Brandy's voice was as light and airy as the gossamer wings of a fairy. There was a fragility to it. Now? Her voice has matured, no surprise there she grew up, and her voice kept the same range but now it has a foundation. It feels more "present," in the music. I love it all. The Vocal Bible is complete. My goodness. Brandy is a straight up legend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brandy while working at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in West Hollywood back in the late 90's. She was so kind and down to Earth. I was taken aback when she approached me at the cash register, looked deep into my eyes and said, "I'm having deja vu! That means you're where you're meant to be." I was 18 or 19 at the time and will never forget this encounter. Much love, Brandy!!

@Starlight not always the case. Some people sound great but aren't vocalists. Meaning there is a proper way to keep your voice strong. As time goes on over usage can damage vocal cords. If I remember correctly, Brandy actually lost her voice from stress when she was sued because of an accident. The fact that its like nothing happened is amazing. Perfect example is Brian from the Backstreet Boys.
