The swag, attitude, slang, movies, sitcoms, music, sport icons, family, and advancement in work places. 90s was so magical for African Americans. Music in America was unmatched in that Era. The influence of MO 'Town and the work ethic passed down from the Generation of The Smoky Robinsons, The Michael Jacksons and Marvin Gaye's to the Tony Braxton's, Tamia, Aaliyah and Brandy was incredible. Nothing will ever come close to this pure, organic and clear sound. These people were geniuses!! imagine at this age selling millions of records and being adored by countless across the world. This was the peak of real music, I wont even put down the synthetic garbage that gets doled out regularly across the music stations in this Era. Everybody has their preference... But this, THIS kind of music is nothing short of a masterpiece.

Life felt so different in the 90s like you were in a whole another Dimension. This video is filled with so much LIFE, COLOR and SOUL. People were more cool and down to earth back then. It's crazy to think of the '90s as simpler times. After all, we had CDs, cell phones/pagers, and the Internet back then. Still, the '90s were indeed simpler. In a less-tense pre-9/11 world, airport security was simpler; gas was cheaper; the housing market in major cities wasn't as bleak; there was no social media/smartphones (as you already pointed out) which meant if you wanted to find out some facts about a famous person, a product, or any subject, you had to do actual old school research (which often involved going to the library or breaking out grandpa's dusty old hardback encyclopedia set LOL). If you wanted to interact with family/friends/companion, you did it in person or on the phone. Music was also much more pleasant to the ear back then. Wow, I'm starting to sound like my grandparents did back then. Teee heee.

@@saxopio6280 so true! Even though the 90s didn't have smart phones and social media, it doesn't seem that far away since we definitely did have pagers, CDs and cell phones. Landlines were used a lot too. Also, magazines, newspapers, advertising, and the media entities swayed public opinion much more.

This was my favorite song back in the 90's when I was 8 years old, I heard this on radio when I was in the car with my mother. Back then the 90's were something listening to music like this that didn't involve expletives stuff or hateful things, and other songs that they didn't have in the 90's. It's 2023, still jamming to all of the 90's songs Brandy is one of my favorite artists after Aaliyah, TLC, SWV, 702, Blaque, and Mary J Blige as a kid in the 90's and 2000's.

To back up your post about the bass in this song, I remember being in college and we got our old floor model TV in the dorm lounge replaced with a large 60 inch TV that had nice speakers at the base of it. When this song game on BET, it used to flat out BUMP. I turned the TV up all the way one time when I was in the lounge by myself, and it sounded like I was in the damn club. I left to go to the bathroom with the TV still all the way up. By the time I came back, the RA who had lived about 4 doors down from the lounge was turning the TV down. Brandy is like the Reggie Miller of singers. She may not be the best singer of all time, but for what she used to do and how she did it, she was damn good. That's why she still gets respect 20 years later.
