The recording of the album was probably completed when she was 13 or less. Then she probably spent about 2 years on artist development or on voice lessons with her father-coach while shopping for a record deal with mommager. Then by the time the she started to get radio airplay, she already spent enough years to sound best live than on the record. She's really gifted !!!
@@jmin8400 Brandy was born in 1979, so no matter what month of 1994 this was recorded, she was 15. Unless it was before her birthday in February, then she was 14...
i too was 14 . i remember missing the beginning of the mini interview with the Latin gal .i came from school half way thru the performance and i though "argh dang " .
You know us as black folk, we tend to stick to what we know. The Church and the singing and the voices is a few of those things. But this YOUNG voice of Brandy is breath taking. No she isn’t the usual church voice we’re used to hearing but baby….. if you’re going to pit someone against her make sure she can sing this just like her. At that age. She might be the same age but can she do this. Meaning everything this song. 😐🤷🏾♂️
@@karlamartin9003 she was young we was by the beacon theater if u familiar with new york we hung out she wasn't stuck up she was new in the game her hair was in those braids she was slim we exchange numbers guess what i beat for it happen to b at the right place at the right time
I always thought that I preferred the remix with Wanya over the original, but I forgot how good the original is, especially with the runs she executes. Lil'nippy!
I like this live version of this song! I like it when the song is slowed down a little. It seems like if the song is slowed down one would have more time to hear the riffs better. I swear Brandy has always been literally a song bird 🕊️. All of the versions of her voice can be put together to sound like you're listening to sweet music from a hummingbird. Oh my gosh, her A capella is beautiful!
This is one of my all time favorite songs! I completely fell in love with it (this version) when I was probably 13 or 14 years old. It literally stayed on repeat all day! Such beautiful vocals from Brandy and the background vocals on the chorus are amazing! Love, love, love this damn song!
I remember recording this in VHS in 94. I still have the tape by the way. This performance made me a BRANDY fan!!!! Great memories!! She’s the TRUTH!! She’s the VOCAL BIBLE!!! 🎤💪🏾💜
I just started watching moesha for the 5th time and I just love brandy. My 90's memories definitely consistent of her music and tv moments. I am a forever fan 🎶🎶💕😄🙌🏾
Something is wrong with your ears if you think she is lip syncing. You can clearly hear her voice with the track. Maybe she was sick this day. Doesnt matter anyway she clearly could sing and sung live plenty of times.
It was one powerful run she did after that bridge that was actually perfect...if she can get her voice to stay consistent she wouldn't be half bad...I've heard worse.
