You will Always have enough ice cubes with the Brass Monkey 12 volt ice maker, for a cold drink. It can produce ice cubes in less than 7 minute to 8 minutes and features a compact design with carry handle for portability. Touch control panel with snowflake motif makes it simple to choose different running modes with different colours. Simply fill the reservoir with water and choose the ice cube size.
I have now owned the Brass Monkey ice maker for over a year. What do I think of it?

It didn't "stay so cold that the ice melted together" at some stage the temps come up then dropped again. Partial melt then re freeze. Love your enthusiasm though.

It does melt together a tad. But a quick knock with the ice scoop and all good.

I think the question many people would like to know is how well it works on 12v AC? I’m quite sure the results will be different when being used on 240v
@PhilsCampingReviews
@PhilsCampingReviews Год назад
I can not recall if the ice maker was sold with a 240v plug. I don't think it is, and not compatible for 240v.

@@PhilsCampingReviews ah… skip to 2m 20mm… it’s giving the impression that you are running the unit on 240v

Thanks S.A.W Adventures. The ice cubes was very popular, I think a few of these ice makers are going to be purchased this coming week. One of them regularly camps with you. His shown a great interest in one.

Phil......need your advice. I need to keep two 55 liter coolers supplied with ice, about 10 KG of ice per day. Do you think it would be a better idea to buy a 12 volt freezer and just fill up ice trays once a day, rather than dealing with continually emptying and filling a portable ice maker multiple times a day? Or would a 12 volt freezer even be able to freeze that much ice every 24 hours? Thank you!

@PhilsCampingReviews Год назад
I don't know. I've never tried making ice in a 12v fridge. Depending on the fridge. Some will some will not. My engel would no way be able to make that much ice. I reckon the kickass 75L would.

@@PhilsCampingReviews Thanks Phil. I just need to bite the bullet and replace my coolers with 12volt refrigerators.

How much does it drain battery while not driving
@PhilsCampingReviews
@PhilsCampingReviews Год назад
When you first turn on is when it consumes the most power. Around 5 to 7 amps. Than it's apx 3

Yikes... a quick calculation means you will get over 82 hours if continuous use from the PowerPaul Mercury. And at 9 ice cubes every 8 minutes you get more than 5500 ice cubes from a single charge on your battery! That's not just a few drinks, it's a full on hootnanny for a small town! Lucky the battery lasts so long because there's no way you can drive after that much drinking... LOL.
@PhilsCampingReviews

😆 So true. that's a lot of drinks.
