Marking the beginning of Night Crew season 5, this unusual episode will show just what it takes to find the one critical ingredient to being successful if you wanna play this game. It's the one thing they've never really talked about as it's one of the biggest secrets to their success. It's something no matter how hard you try and do without in the beginning, everyone eventually learns you gotta have it. This episode is about LAND. Follow the guys on an exploration into uncharted territory looking for new ground to hunt from complete strangers. They had no clue what they were getting into and some of the NO'S were less than comfortable to say the least. There was no shortage of rejection on this mission and some of the excuses at the door that kept them from getting access were something you'll have to see and hear to believe. Will they succeed or will this journey be a complete disaster? See for yourself on BRASS TACKS.

@@earth-thrower7366 I am curious why you think that these guys are not hunters. Is it because they hunt at night? Is it because they use an electronic caller? Is it because they use the weapons that they do? Is it because they (probably) don't eat the coyotes that they shoot? (Truthfully 99% of people don't/wouldn't consider eating coyote.🤮) Or is it because you feel that coyotes should be left alone and not killed by any human?

@@earth-thrower7366 I am not "telling" you anything. I asked you a few questions, about why you don't think these are hunters. Can you not adequately answer simple questions about the way you think? Or are you simply wanting to start an argument? I didn't defend their position, nor yours. I am only trying to have a civil conversation.

@@earth-thrower7366 ...Hmm, well I guess it's a good thing I wasn't trying to tell you anything. Because obviously you won't listen to anyone's opinion but your own....Naw... I'm going to tell you something anyway. I don't hunt at night, like these guys do. But if I'm going to choose a "side", I will choose to be on their side every time. I have been hunting (& yes it is hunting, whether you think so or not) coyotes for 50 yrs, in a variety of ways. These guys are doing nothing wrong or illegal (in many states). And it's just as much "hunting" as going after turkey, deer, birds or bunnies. The way they do it may be relatively new. But trying to keep the coyote population in check IS A FORM OF CONSERVATION......I have seen your comments on several videos. You are always trying to stir things up....I tried to have a civil conversation with you. But you are too arrogant to do so. So I won't waste more time trying to be civil!!!!

@@earth-thrower7366 I didn't need to "insult your intelligence". This last comment of yours proved what I said in my previous comment. I could easily provide case studies as well. But like every other animal rights zealot, you won't have a calm discussion. Instead you rant. I have wasted enough time. Go away. If you don't like these types of videos, or don't like hunters, then stop trolling the videos. No one is forcing you to watch or comment. Over and out!!!!

This is Iowa to a T! I can’t get goose hunting permission sometimes because of cattle and past hunters’ mistakes/lies. Another issue is some landowners are species specific. Yes to goose, no to deer/coyote, etc. Love the content, keep crushing guys!

@rudygeorgiamulesandcountry1594
One advantage to gaining permission is to have a "Business Card" or a brief "Resume" to leave with the land owner. This should contain your name address and phone number. Locally land owners here in NWPA typically oun 10 - 100 acres or so, our SGL's might be 200 - 2,000 acres; although some are larger. We don't have many expanses of otherwise public land. SGL's often have only 1 or 2 access points, not a.lowing for much leeway for varying winds. Often by the time you advance a couple hundred yards you've pushed the game onto public land. When you do setup to calla SGL, as soon as you turn the caller on all the dogs within a mile begin barking & howling; then lights show up in neighboring windows followed by porch lights coming on. We've even had landowners come looking for what or who was triggering the disturbance. Then I'm not so sure all the barking is good for our calling.

Hey guys, thank you for covering the information that you do in your videos. Over the years of watching you I have progressed from day time to dabbling with night time with lights to progressing on to thermal. This video is also very helpful and informative. I have been thinking about it for awhile on how to approach this subject, knocking on doors or sending a letter. My places are very limited here and the population are mostly liberal that believe what the idiot box tells them. Thank you for your information.

I don't know how people are in your area. But in mine (north-central KS), in my decades of asking for permission to hunt, the best way to receive a n immediate "no" or to be completely ignored is to ask via a phone call or letter. Even if the landowner is someone you know personally. I have always found it best to ask in person, face to face. Like these guys said, you just never know. I have had farmers that I have known for years, and that have given me permission in previous years, tell me no the next year. Only to have them tell me yes again the following year.😎...I never wait until right before I want to hunt a property to ask. If at all possible, I will talk to them weeks, if not a couple of months, prior. Of course I also try to time it when it appears that they aren't in the middle of harvesting, or working cattle.....Sorry for this book length comment. I could go on, with more suggestions, but I am sure I have said more than you want to read anyway.😎

Amazing clarity of that night vision, unlike the thought process (I feel that is a VERY generous term) of the lady. I have found my best opportunity often comes to me, through friends who know I shoot feral pests ethically. Having said that, here in Tasmania, there are many who are still concerned about firearms and shooting after the Port Arthur Massacre 25 years ago. I have just got into night vision ( very much the budget end of the spectrum, but still functional). I have 4 out of 5 neighbours who have given me written permission ( I always have it in writing, including all requests and property ‘rules’) and I just send them a text if I spot critters while scouting.

It’s insulting, people telling you they don’t think you know the difference between a 40 pound coyote and a 600 pound heifer. When people tell me they have cattle reply, “Well good, I’m in the right place then! We can keep them from killing your calves!” Tell them you can help them out and prevent the loss of $X in calves and get to hunt coyotes too. Let them know it’s a win win situation and that you don’t charge for your services. You’d be surprised when they start thinking about their wallets! 😊 Have some business cards made up with farm loss prevention themes and hand them out.

There are a LOT of disrespectful folks out there that trespass, leave trash, cut fence, leave gates open, or ruts in their fields. Don't believe me? Just go out to a public hunt/fish property and look around. It is disgusting.

Two brothers going door to door asking permission to hunt on peoples private land, the older brother tells his younger to wait here in the truck while he goes and knocks on the door of an older gentleman's home, the two talk for a few moment and the older man says they can hunt on his land but he has a small favor to ask. He proceeds to explain to the older brother that over in the corral by where they had parked was an old mule that was sick and dying and he just didn't have the heart to shoot it and put it out of it's misery and asked if he would take care of that for him, the older brother agreed. On his way back to the truck where his younger brother had been waiting he decided he would mess with his little brother so he put on his best angry face jerked the door of the truck open and grabbed his rifle from behind the seat and began to tell his brother..."why that rotten SOB called Mama everything but a nice Christian woman and told me to get back in my truck with my ugly ass friend and get the hell off his property"....just then the brother tucked his rifle in his shoulder leaned over the hood pulled the trigger and dropped that old mule right where it stood when all of the sudden he hears two gun shots ring out behind him, he whips around and his little brother says lets get....I got two of his cows. 🤣
