Thank you for this video. I just bought Brasso to clean a tea pot my Mom gave me & to remove rust off silverware so I'll see how it works but I'm motivated now to try it after watching this video. Now that I watched the video till the end I'm going to buy Wright's to try that instead.

Wrights is a dry on polish. meaning you can let it dry and it wipes off nicely. Is Brasso a dry on or not? Very important when you're polishing large items.. I've always used wrights but they've been discontinued, which is very unfortunate.

In the Army you use brasso. Tried Wright's polish after using other Wright's products and love it.

Brasso is a brass cleaner/polisher only while Wright's is very good for cooper but not on other metals, as for pewter, silver, and gold just use tooth paste (plain white with whitener). It's what we did in the Army to keep things very shiny.

You are only using it on a smooth surface. If you use Brasso on deeper detailed surfaces it will leave a white residue no matter how you clean and rinse.

Hi, Could there be a different metal or quality of metal, or maybe, thinness/thickness of the copper on the owl’s wings and the owl’s eyes? Perhaps one is made of brass and one of copper? I was just trying to figure out why the brasso would work so much better on the eyes than it did on the wings/body....brass and copper can look very similar and be hard to tell one from the other, esp if tarnished.

@@LEARNINGCHORDS A soft brisel brush to work in Brasso formula will even work better . Then finish by removing all the dirt with a clean micro fiber cloth . Enjoy

I call bullshyt... Brasso works better overall and is more controllable not being as runny.... Wright's is a good product, but Brasso is the better without doubt.... Been using it on relative's grave markers and headstones since the 1970s and have tried everything possible to make the job easier and better... ALWAYS goes back to Brasso... Makes zero sense how the Brasso worked so effortlessly on the owl's face and all of a sudden on the same piece, miraculously the Wright's was the best.... The only way in real life a freak thing like that could even start to happen is if there was some sort of an old clear coat preservative left on the area the Brasso was applied to and not the Wright's... My over 50 years of hands on doing this tells me that much...

I'm using Brasso on my exterior copper flashing. It seems to work great in the moment, but within a few hours my copper has really unsightly streaks of purple and green discoloration that match the direction in which I used the sponge to apply it. I can make the streaks go away by using Brasso again, but they'll just come back. Any suggestion?? Thanks!

They changed Brasso. It was never as good. It wouldn’t come out of fine detail work. I quit using it.

Is there a way to remove a bit of residual brass polish that I failed to wipe off when I applied it a few weeks ago? It has dried up and is not water soluble.

usually by adding more it will melt the old and all come off
