i don’t get the hate for these repros tbh. the outfit replicas are literally spot on. i get the issues with the faces, but i don’t think they’re so different or so bad that they warrant the hate they’re getting. especially yasmin and meygan. yasmin looks so pretty imo, and meygan looks identical to the original. just more sad in the face lol. i think these are miles better than the 20 years repros. mine have loose heads, bulky hair and cloe looks a hot ass mess with her screening. i will say, however, that i wish they would be more consistent with the dolls. i cannot stand how they keep switching up which head sculpts they’re using & how they’re printing the faces on. they did so good with the series 3 repros, but then went back and used different methods AGAIN for this collection. if they were more consistent with actually using the same sculpts and printing methods as they used to, these dolls would be SPECTACULAR. i have very low hope for the future of bratz at this point because ive seen more negative feedback than positive.
@frankiesoiree Yeah, they're not bad at all. Meygan is super cute. I personally don't like MGA's inconsistency, either. I don't own the originals to really see the side by side but from photos alone there is a big difference in screening and accessories. This was a big problem with the Rock Angelz reproduction as well. I am not mad at it though. I do like the dolls and will still be buying the rest of them. I just need MGA to not forget the doll line that made them who they are.
Im pretty sure we didn’t get many accessories for the sleepover dolls because of the price range. Many people were stating that $35 was too much for the dolls so MGA had to cut many things out sadly. Don’t quote me on that though, I’m not sure if that’s true. I personally love accessories so I would’ve definitely payed the $35 LOLOL that’s just me though. Great review!
@monicalove5009 That actually makes sense. I too would pay extra for all the accessories. I guess I just miss the way the original Bratz used to be marketed. But honestly I'm still happy we're even getting Bratz at all. Sometimes it feels like they're being forgotten. 😕
Their faces look different from the pictures you showed because there’s actually two different versions of Slumber Party. They both have different screenings and hairstyles. For the reproductions it seems like they used wave 2 as a reference 😊
@arigato4550 Oh yes, I am aware. But the way they are marketing them seems like they're insinuating they are a reproduction of phase 1. I saw on the website it's 2003 release but then they said "fan favs" which would be wave 1. But either way, they do look different even with in the 2nd wave. Imo of course. I am still happy they're still releasing even if it's slow
I just can't warm up to these dolls and don't want to buy them because I did own wave 1 and they were so different even compared to the wave 2 that this line is reproduced from, I just think wave 1 Yasmin was way prettier with her red lipstick and green eyes instead of the purple lips, purple eyes. But I love that people are happy to buy this collection in 2024 even if they're missing a lot of the stuff
I wanted to get Yasmin because I like the character and loved her Slumber party outfit, but there was just something about her eyes that spooked me the heck out. Something eerie / creepy about them just made me put her down and I just NOPED right out of the store. Sad, because the Original doll looks lovely.
My Scene reproduction has not released yet so who knows maybe there will still be more Bratz lineup coming. Plus I think that fall into winter is a big release time
@kelleypopelar3162 I don't doubt that there will be more releases but they're still very much behind. We should've had at least 2 lines by now. They have been releasing new LOL Tweens and OMG dolls. New Rainbow High stuff as well. I just feel like the same consistency should be with Bratz too. Regardless, though, I am still glad we got a Bratz reproduction release at all.
@BratzUniverse I get that, but they're $29.99 that's not a collector price but it is a bit on the higher side for a playline price. Monster High dolls are around that price and they always come with tons of accessories. Same with LOL OMG dolls.
I have original Yasmin and Meygan luckily, got them for very cheap a few years ago and complete. Not sure how i feel since the repros are missing so much of the cute accessories, i personally wished they just increased the price a bit and included everything. Also it seems like they cheapened out on the robes too, Sasha is missing the furry part of the robe. I'm missing the rest of the girls but i dont know if i really want the repros, even the faces are off.
Slumber Party had one of the most gorgeous Bratz screenings, so these repros' screenings not being the same is a dealbreaker to me. They're not unique anymore. Yasmin used to be my fave but in this line she's the second one I dislike the most. I don't like how empty her eyes look. As for them being slow with reproductions...I'm personally ok with it even though there are many repros I would like to see. I just don't want my wallet to suffer lol, although I do agree they'd be better off if they did more in order to compete with MyScene
@LudovicaParziale I hear ya! I totally agree. I don't blame you for not wanting the repros. They look entirely different. I wish they had kept the screenings the same atleast.
