This was really interesting Justine, I also re-read Brave New World only 2 years ago and was amazed by how many things Huxley predicted . I'm intrigued how you refer here to our traditions, and I agree how rich and important they are. We should go back and know these stories in order to inform our experience, but I think we should also move on and create new, well informed traditions that take our past into consideration as well as what awaits us as we transform within this new, secular world we live in. Shakespeare knew his Bible inside out and so should we, but nowadays hardly anyone even knows him.
I really liked you ending with the Inner Left Panel of the Tuin Der Lusten which suggested to me that we and Lenina are performing the Inner Right Panel.
