I see a story from this mashup. Katy is the victim of bullying and Sara is a bystander who is telling the victim to stand up. at the end she does and Katy is happy ☺ happy ending do happen in this crazy world after all
@@MattCC16Gaming Yeah sure, it had nothing to do the fact that Katy perry started saying Sara was such an inspiration before recording a song that sounds exactly the same as one of hers. BTW, Roar was recorded in 2013, while Brave was recorded in 2011.
"Katy's a friend of mine and we've known each other a really long time, so she even texted me about it and we went back and forth. The shame that I feel that's happened is that it's become a drama. It's putting this negative spin on two artists that are choosing to share positive messages. If I'm not mad I don't know why anybody else is upset. I'm like, 'Relax, let's just celebrate that we can be out there and encouraging people to, like, feel strong and empowered.'" - Sara Bareilles
Katy: "I have self esteem issues." Sara: "I wanna see you be brave!" Katy: "You're right, and you're gonna hear me roar!" This sounds like a duet between two friends, one cheering the other up.
This is a great mash up because not only do the songs have a very similar sound, they have the same story - just from different perspectives. Great job!
It's funny because so many people said that. Somebody actually thought there was gonna be a lawsuit because of it but they're actually friends and said neither song was copied from the other, just coincidence.
This was uploaded so long ago but my year level is doing this for out end of year celebration. One half of the grade is doing the roar parts and the other half is doing the brave parts and it is so much fun! Thank you for making this!
Even though they are similar we can say it's a good song, they are like having a conversation in this mashup, sara is telling katy to be brave and katy doing what sara said.
Great minds think alike. This is pretty good how you're using the originals to do a mash-up version. From the first time I heard Brave I've always thought that they were the same until I listened to Roar, their melodies are sooo similar. :)
Oh my God!!! I love this! It is like the 2 best motivational songs in history... combined? 🤗 I have to try "California Gurls" & "Blank Space". Awesome! 👏🏻
First, I exported the song from Audacity to my computer. Then I made a lyric-video for the song (I used Windows Movie Maker, also very easy to use) and then I opened the RU-vid website, logged on to my account and clicked the "upload" button (it's in right-hand corner). Then you just follow the steps. :)
I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my RU-vid channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤
Very nicely done. These two songs fit so well together because, like dozens of other songs, they use the same chord progression. It's eight quarter-notes: D A B F# G C G A It's Pachelbel's "Canon in D." You'll find it everywhere in modern music.
this was actually pretty damn good!! I clicked out of curiosity randomly lol. certain parts arent quite 100% with beat matching but still.... pretty damn close!
Thank you! I know it's not perfect, it just was my first project and I liked it enough, so that's why I put it on RU-vid. If I had known that it would lead to more than 177000 views, I would have put more time in it to make it perfect. :D
Cherryblossom the cool No. Roar came out after Brave. But I heard it was recorded before Brave did. And there’s seems no evidence that Sara copied Katy. So it was a huge coincidence. But somehow, the songs sounds like a conversation about standing up for oneself.

Interesting that these songs are so similar, yet got played on different radio formats. At least where I live, Brave was played on the modern rock station, while Roar was played on the top 40 station.
I l this song mash up when I heard it in choir I have left that school and now I am glad I can still hear it. It doesn't have as much emotion when sing it but sill love it. If a choir teacher is seeing this Please do it in class just loved doing it.
