@@dew-it8744 Ba’al Battle was made as part of Bravely Default, not second, as two Ba’als appeared as optional bosses in Norende. It’s still Revo.

@@switchboxplays Listening again, it’s pretty clear the whole section from ~1:36 to 2:35 _heavily_ borrowed from BD1’s Wicked Flight (which in turn was the basis for Spurred Into Flight). Considering this song plays for the chapter 1 end boss fight, the effect is…somewhat jarring, to put it mildly.

@@laurant4282 ehhh I mean, music is subjective so I'm not trying to tell you that your opinion in wrong, but while I definitely think there are definitely some hitters, by and far I think Revo's pieces are more melodically colorful and rich. Every song's supporting instruments painting in their part to audibly illustrate a beautiful song. I also personally prefer Revo's common chord progressions to Pokèmon's. While I'll give Pokèmon credit in the diversity of melodies/chords, I just feel that most of them never rise higher than "good." idk that is just my opinion.

@@jacksonlovesnintendo Oh I completely agree! If I have to be honest, Revo's music is way better then anything Pokémon has done before and probably will ever do. I just felt bad for Pokémon's composers! Honestly, some of the newer tracks are becoming a bit lacklustre : / - I think Pokémon needs to move on from "fake midi orchestra" to actual live instruments now, I think its a little overdue. But I will say that the soundtracks do exactly what they need to - which is accompany the game. Tbh, when I made that comment I was probably only thinking of the "hitters" when I dont actually remember most of any Pokémon's games soundtrack, while in contrast I can recall the entire BD soundtrack by heart!

Yes and if you listen carefully you can hear parts of other BD themes which revo did such as wicked fight and serpent eating the ground.
