Braves fans are all over the country. They aren't regional, they and the Cubs are the 2 national teams thanks to TBS and WGN. There were times in the 80's where these were the only 2 teams on TV vs. their opponents...literally every night.

That was one of the worst to best team and got me hooked to baseball. Sid Bream slide across the home plate in 1992 was one of the best.

From a Jays fan, I remember those guys very well. Loved watching Terry Pendleton, Otis Nixon, Dave Justice, Ron Gant, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Jeff Reardon, and Steve Avery as well.

Ever since the civil rights era there's been a sports, civil rights/politics conflict. Black athletes such as Ali, #44, etc used their platforms to speak out about injustices... Later organizations began taking a stand as well, as they should. It wasn't MLB that caused pullout it was the GOP. MLB responded.

Maybe that's right but it took a lot of balls for Manfred to pull the MLB All Star game out of Atlanta which I'm sure he didn't do just on his own. Consultation with many people before doing something like that I'm sure. But leadership sometimes mean making the hard decisions like that knowing not everyone will agree with the decision and yes sports should not have the politics involved. But these days with the Voting Suppression bills that have been passed in Georgia and especially the way they did it - without consultation from anyone was a bold move. Frankly, I'm surprised Home Depot, Georgia Pacific, Coca Cola, etc and other Atlanta based companies on that level didn't do more.
