Should’ve waited to cast cyclonic rift at their next combat phase, could’ve started the next turn with a full mana pool and scarab god on the field. Grab 2 more creatures from graves and you’d be fine

they had the mana but it being a card in exile they cant do alternate cost effects right like the cleave for wash away or overload cyclonic rift?
