Wife and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. Wife is from Joinville, SC. We sent $1,000 to one of her brothers in Joinville to buy water, toiletries and toilet paper and bring to local fire department for shipment to RS. He said almost NO bottled water left in Joinville.

Maybe an idea to make a video about the towns and cities to avoid when looking to purchase a home in RS.

We have had many severe floods here in Blumenau SC ..But this is by far the worst.

There are always floods in Brazil, but I think this is the worst one ever.

I was listening to a podcast episode in Spanish about efforts to seed mosquitos with a bacterium that prevents the spread of Dengue fever in Brazil and other countries as well as vaccination and elimination of standing water where mosquito eggs incubate. The podcast is produced by Radio Ambulante estudios. It is named "El hilo". Unfortunately it does not have English or Spanish transcriptions like the main podcast. During the episode it was mentioned that the Argentine government has not been interested in addressing the increase in cases. I was thinking about which diseases might experience an increase due to the severe flooding. I have an old acquaintance whose family lives in Porto Alegre and I have seen some of his short video messages on a social platform. Hoping to speak with him and learn how I can help soon. I was in this area in December, but I did not visit RS. Only Santa Catarina and Uruguay and CABA
