1958, 1962, 1970, 1982 and 2002 were better teams. Fair to say that, most of this national teams are only better than the 2006 one because most players in the 2006 were not in their prime (e.g., Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Juan, Lucio, Ronaldo, Juninho). Their prime was in 2002, except Ronaldinho and Kaka, who were still playing near-prime or even better than in 2002.

​@@Mfuao I don’t see the 2006 Brazilian Team as being the best ever ( ever really ??? ) as a “ common comment “ that often really on the web . As it’s not. Maybe the only people who occasionally say this are young and dumb kids. Because anyone that knows anything about football history ( especially versus these kids today who base all their current understanding of football on the FIFA video game and it’s “ stats , numbers , analytics , etc “ lol ) would and should know that 2006 ( though still a great team ) was nowhere near the greatest teams ever fielded by Brazil . For that you would have to refer back to the previous person’s response ( the one you responded to prior ) where he included the 1970 team as one of the greatest ever fielded by Brazil ( and arguably the best out of the 1958 , 1962 and 1970 WC winning Brazilian sides including the 1994 winning side and the 2002 as well ) . Even the 1982 WC Brazil Team that failed to win that WC due to losing to Italy in the equivalent of what would be the quarters today ( second stage group phase of 3 teams where only the one single group winner - Italy then - goes through to the semi ) . That team had Zico , Falcao , Socrates , Eder and so many other greats . In short the guy you responded to was - indeed right. The 2002 WC winning Brazil side and 1994 do not hold a candle to the 1970 WC winning Brazil side nor even the 1982 Brazil team that failed to win it.
