Breadfruit is a staple food of millions of people.
Ingredients
1 medium size breadfruit slices
1/2 cup coconut flakes
4 green chili
1/4 cuminseeds
4 garlic cloves
1/ 4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
2 tbsp coconut oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 sprig curry leaves
2 tbsp shallots diced
2 dried red chilli
Step by step method
Remove the skin of the breadfruit.
Cut and remove the hard part of the center.
Apply some oil in the hand and then slice the bread fruit into pieces. Dice the breadfruit evenly.
Rinse thoroughly and put the pieces into a heavy bottomed pan.
Add a cup water and cook until soft.
Grind coarsely coconut, green chilies, cumin seeds and garlic cloves into coarsely.
Add the crushed ingredients into the cooked breadfruit along with salt, cook over a low heat.
Heat a pan and pour the oil to heat, then splutter the mustard seeds and curry leaves.
Next add on shallots and dried red chilies to saute until golden.
Pour the tempered seasoning into the cooked breadfruit.
Mix well and enjoy.
