@@indoorperson4054 nah fam he's on a tight sched he's got a ton of other worlds lined up that needs badass MC besides he knows he's not the MC here so he did the kid a favor and set an example and inspiration
Tbf he could have died three times there. 1. If that Tupel dude stays focused 2. If the old man wasn't intimidated by a broken Artemis, just from a gaze (lol) 3. If the leader came down earlier (yapping like Tupel dude XD) But yeah damn he's badass especially when countering the sniper twice
The only reason Girge was killed off was because it was difficult to tell the story of war with such an OP character. The author still did him justice by giving him a badass way to die.
"The only reason Girge was killed off was because it was difficult to tell the story of war with such an OP character" hello char aznable has joined chat! " its just bad writing if the author could figure it out like gundam did" - char aznable probably
@@0Heeroyuy01 I feel like that's a different situation since Char was Amuro's main antagonist. He existed to humble Amuro every day and show him how much he relied on his Gundam's power over any actual skill. If they fought on the same side, Amuro would always be second fiddle.
That is some really insane skill, observation, adapting. He know how to use his weapon well too, the compress gun, it has two different mode. Full-auto spraying allow him to suppress other enemy combatant and switching to semi-auto for the killing shot, in 3:09, he waited to compress all the energy to his gun, which allow it to fully pierce into an state-of-the-art golem. The guy is a legend
The best part of his character for me was always how well his feel for their equipment could've been used if peace had been maintained. While he was a epic badass, watching him do his thing was always a little saddening to me with the context.
i literally cry my eyes out every time i encounter this scene. Girge is so good, his ending is good. literally over powered, but not infallable. so good soooo good perfection of a scene and character. everything i want from mech and more
Break Blade has the best damn vibes my god I love how heavy the mecha feel despite doing such cool moves, and having such slick designs. They translated the manga so well but really showed off in all the action.
The golem Girge was using was based on the Delphine which is better than any golem produced in that time even in it's heavily nerfed form later on. It couldn't get better than that unfortunately.
Escaflowne is a better series but does not have a fight scene as good as this. Same for mainline gundam since the finale is always BS newtype power stuff. The mechanics are known from the beginning in this fight. No plot armor. No last minute magic powers. Just crazy pilot skills. Killing a guy with your severed foot was just nuts. Was even better in the manga. The only gundam fight i found comparable was the 08th team vs norris.
THIS is how you kill an obviously powerful character, you don't nerf them or asspull some sort of dumbass disadvantage out of nowhere. Just pure display of skill till the final move of the battle and their last breath, win or lose.
Its refreshing, and lore wise its because they are made of mineral quartz and magically power. Thus not combustible, with the main exception being possibly the protagonist machine.
years after watching this anime and I get a recommendation of this scene out of nowhere I really miss this anime, way ahead of it's time and it's illegal that it's underrated asf it really deserves a season 2
@@Whyalwaysm3Just make an alternative timeline like we’ve seen with other titles, but this time without hurry and by the hands of a much more experienced break blade author by now
As much as I loved the series version as well, I loved the movie version more because Girge killed the crazy ass girl nike and squashed her in front of her squad which was imo the best scene of the entire series
@@RayGraze-qs3xw ibo story and design is better for sure, but could you imagin ibo with this type of animation quality and battles. mika's battles would be even more insane.
The ending is not at all what happens in the manga. Girge and Lygart get captured after Girge exits his golem to shoot the guy in the head, though the whole battle was accurate to the manga. Girge does get shot in the head after that by lying that he is the pilot of the unique Golem to save Lygart.
this my kind of fight scene battle IQ + badassness and not some guy who just shout then suddenly beat his opponent with some boring punches, iam not talking about Dragonboring z 🤣
I show this clip to one of my friends and he said "its boring" but he watch dragonball wtf Iam not gonna talk to that guy again@@WestbrickFansGotNoBrains
We really need more main character like him, that doesnt talk alot but does actual brilliant moves that shocked and wow us. He doesnt even have inner thoughts which makes us wonder what hes going to do next
there are 2 versions, one called "broken blade" and other called "break blade" one is anime and the other are ovas, do not change too much, but you should watch both.
This anime was a masterpiece even if they spliced it and the manga is amazing. I hope someone reboots it and finish it because it kept you on the edge of your seat.
That dude can fight. The hell those suits made of? My brain says steel, and the sheared edges shine like it, but those flechettes shatter it like ceramic, so it's brittle. Some kind of impure alloy? Or do the pressguns just condense *that much* pneumatic PSI that they can fracture hull plate?
Quartz crystal. Barring the protag's mech, all the technology in that world is made from quartz. The thing is, everybody in the world, except the protag, has touch telekinesis power over quartz.
Best example of Skill overcomes advanced weaponry Doesn't matter how good your shit is, if you cant use it to its full potential, youre as good as waste
This video literally is what got me to pick up the film series on blu-ray, expecting for sure that a scene with such high production value would be in it, and I was stunned when this scene was effectively missing almost altogether. Did the 12-episode series ever get a blu-ray release?
You ever hear of the one legged man at the ass kicking contest? I wish they'd make more mecha shows about the highly skilled somewhat jaded soldiers in a standard/specialized unit, as opposed the naive, idealistic, rookie pilots with the overpowered machines.
I been searching this anime for a long....time,i know that mc got limited time to use his mecha but i forgot the title,i remember watch the movie, but i didn't expect it got it's own series
7:35 for example this scene in the manga made no sense since he said it after he went up. while in the anime it fit so fucking well since he was making the speak while they were fighting
What the?..This is exactly Escaflowne. Like right down to the look of the mechs and the insane character bum-rushing the team (this exact scene played out with Dilandau).
an online forum friend introduce this series to me highlighting that its a mecha anime without explosion whatsoever. overal its great but the one that really hook me was the character's relationship. holy crap
This is good but stop calling it better than gundam Ibo. It's not gundam IBO has villains that are realistic unlike this show. Plus the bandai design's are better.
Weight... It's like comparing the 1st and 2nd Pacific Rim movies. The difference is there are some weight to the actions. One of the reasone why Iron-Blooded Orphans is quite good.
