I don’t like the part where the vocalist just keeps repeating “got to murder a sound”. Reason being, this track is in a minor key and I don’t like minor keys. At all. So it gets very bad when the vocalist keeps repeating that over and over. Minor key instrumentals are party poopers. A record in a minor key instrumental is a record that actually doesn’t inspire people to use music to obtain joy. Music can be used by anyone to obtain joy by singing along with the music, and by dancing along with the rhythm of the music. Music set in a major key instrumental inspires singers to sing because singers can sing a melody in any key. For example, singers can sing a minor key melody over a major key instrumental, and singers can sing a Major key melody over a major key instrumental. That is the fundamental of the blues: Major key instrumental accompanied by a minor key vocal melody. Therefore major key instrumentals are very user friendly for singers because they give singers so many options. In addition, dancers are inspired to dance by major key instrumentals because major key instrumentals have a very celebratory vibe. 2 major chords. That’s all you need. Or a 4 chord harmonic progression like a I-Vi-ii-V-I-Vi-ii-V-I-Vi-ii-V-I-Vi-ii-V-I-Vi-ii-V harmonic progression Like in “Sherry” by Franki Valli and the four seasons. However, in a standard 4 chord progression in a major key, a lot of time is spent going through the minor harmonies of a major key like the minor iii harmony, and the minor vi harmony. For that reason, I prefer a 2 chord harmonic progression like in “I Do Love You” by GQ or “shining star” by The Manhattans. 2 major chord progressions are wonderful because they don’t deviate from a major harmony at all. It’s best to follow a 2 chord song, with a 4 chord song in order to avoid “harmony fatigue” like a professional eater like Erik the Elektrik avoids “flavor fatigue”.
