Me and my dad were grinding the crap out of this game. We made whole albums and we said that when I grow older I will make music on the beats. Sadly my dad died last year. I came back here because it reminds me of my childhood. Back when everything was good 😔
I don't know where you come from, but in Europe the game was released under the name "Music 2000" and in the USA under the name "MTV Music Generator". And it's 25 years old.
Had more than 30 memory cards full of tracks. Used to record straight to tape. Music 2000 would also allow you to sample CDs too. In the beginning i used to use the pre made loops but soon after,i started to make my own melodies and everything from scratch. I believe producer Skream started producing his beats with Music 2000.
I made a whole ten track album using this game, it took a year and half to make. From summer 2001 to Xmas 2002. I then pretended to release singles from it 🤣. It was so much fun! I transferred it to minidisk 🤗 I've still got my original tracks and the minidisk
Oh yes, this "game" will always have a special place in my heart. After messing around with Fostex 4 track for years, i bought Music 2000 when it came out. That was my introduction to digital sequencing really. I made a TON of songs with this thing, i still can remember most of those melodies 20 years later. What a beautiful program this is. 10/ 10 i recommend this to anybody!
😂 😂 😂 Me and my mate used to make acid techno/hardcore/hard techno/Trance on this, actually recorded our tunes as a mix onto a tape once and my mate had it on in the car! 😂 😂 😂 I do miss them days, funny times 😎
I was 17 when I bought this game back in 99. I still have the tape I recorded my tracks on. What I'd give to find that memory card I saved them onto so I could record them properly. So many great memories.
MTV would approve. No, seriously, this is just MTV Music Generator, but made in it's original home country before it got the MTV branding puked all over it.
THANK YOU for uploading these! Had many many many hours sunk into Music 2000 when I was a kid and to this day im still trying to find something that lets me produce and express myself as easily and wonderfully as this!
I started off on music 2000 and afterwards started using propellerheads reason. Still on reason studio to this day. Found it the easiest daw to figure out after making tunes on music 2000
In the middle of 2024 looking for PSX games to play and on the website I download this game, I never heard of it, either here in Brazil it didn't exist or it wasn't popular
Please no. It would be too much of a headache. This was simple and easy so anyone could make music. If they made one now you would have to be some pro music producer to use. They would end up over complicating it.
This game was my first "D.A.W" as such, haha I actually put used a ps1 emu software to copy the samples from the disk! low quality but still have character haha :D
Banger! Shame this game is so expensive to find. I literally managed to get every other music making game, even Popstar Maker of which I had no idea contained a DAW
Quien no empezó a producir música con este programa tan bello tan lindo tan artesanal!!!! Que lastima antes no haber podido guardar las canciones creadas en ese programa lo vamos a volver a hacer.
Still have an original ps and a copy of music 2000 and loads of memory cards with tracks I made what a tool for such an old console and I have still had a go on it recently a new version would be nice when a new PlayStation console is released maybe 🙏
I tried to recreate a track of my own in 2020 but couldn't! I must have been a genius back in the day! Lockdown gave me the chance to try it out again!
Gosh what memories. I seem to remember using the version that came out before music 2000. Remember writing tunes on it and then using some kind of auto generated graphical video - looked and sounded so early 1990’s!
I still have mine and all of my songs. I spent many an hour playing this. I know there was a two but do any of the newer game systems have something like this?
Sound track mate Ive just got the first one, and started making a track of the week. Had it back in the day its my fave ps1 game of all time. Top video mate.
So much better than most of the nowadays software. I mean. Sure those have midi support and all sorts of sfx that this didn't have. But, it was made in 1999. Whadd'ya expect?
Limited memory capacity of PS1 made this incapable of competing with PC softwares back then and also nowdays. Although I agree that this was more than just a game and as so it was forerunner to bring advanced music and also video programming to ordinary peoples homes. And it was Royalty Free samples which means you were eligible to sell your own music made with this game if you included codemasters logo in your cover art.
Omg nostalgia at its best!!! The endless hours of making one track, trying to perfect it just have some self gratification knowing you made a track worthy of a 90's clubland album haha
Dennis Stennis I found a memorex karaoke machine with an sd card slot, an adapter for memory cards that plugs into my android s4, and an app the transfer mp3 to wav. From there, SoundCloud, then Pandora radio.
The 3rd person in history besides me to make original music on this program. Not kidding, half my vids have a Comment like "I didn't know you could make your own beats on this."
