I love the look she gives to Akane at the end: thank you for being there with me, thank you for believing in me. And also... Yeah... Damn onion ninjas...
Yeh, you're not the only one with specks of invisible dust in the eyes... It really is a stunningly beautiful song done this way and is easily in my top 3 of all BM songs!
[Report] Today's (Sep. 7, Japan Time) Band-Maid concert at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo was amazing 💛. "Freedom" included Akane's drum solo as long as she did in official live video. They played my favorite "Daydreaming" that had not been performed in preceding 3 concerts in Osaka, Nagoya and Sendai. They premiered new song "Influencer". The girls went nuts because they had not played at Zepp Tokyo for 5 years. Especially, Kanami was so excited that she wanted to explode herself by drinking alcoholic beverage on stage ! after Misa before playing "Unleash". Other members were surprised because Kanami did not drink alcohol for years even off stage. So Kanami played last 5 songs under the influence 😄 They are great! FYI. They played Sayonakidori normal electric version by 5 members.
It is okay Alan. Music is supposed to provoke an emotional response. Nothing wrong with being human. Not enough humanity shown in the world, we could use more of it. These women are amazing, as usual.
The quiet spoken section in the studio version is a direct quote from Romeo and Juliet. Miku proves her self again and again as does the Rhythm section. Love everything that she and Cluppo have done.

@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Unfortunately I did not see any camera crew, so I am afraid that it was not filmed. I am big BABYMETAL fan and have so far witnessed 10 BM concerts but today's show was my first live experience with B-M. So I was lucky to see drunk Kanami at my first Oku-Ji 🤣. I will be busy to commute between Pigeonhole and Foxhole from now on. 💛
Surely the song I have heard more than any other in the last year, considering all the versions released and from fan cams. I have six on my channel. The one I have from San Diego got me uploading, the first song I have.. Watching Kanami do backing vocals is one of the sweetest things. (I'm not monetized, just a fan.)
My favorite version of this song. Simply beautiful and a mouth cover for all those who still think that Miku has no talent. She and the girls are just perfect! Great reaction again guys. See you at the next! 🤘🦊🔥🔥🔥
I don't know why/how I missed this from 11 months ago (I've heard the version just not the reaction). What gets me emotionally is that being a musician it is easy to understand what the challenge is - even without the translation. Only musicians really can know how epic nailing something like this is. It's all the things that were said earlier - all the work she has put in - and bringing it all together in this way. It's what musicians strive for.
Nice breakdown guys! The whole performance was masterfully arranged and played. Goosebumps and/or tears for us fans. Every time. I think a listener with no idea who Band Maid was would appreciate the beauty of it as is and never know they're listening to an impossibly hard-rocking band. Bonus: this show proves it's not the maid outfits that give them their super powers!
Miku pretty much said "I am really nervous" before starting her set. I think that's how she deals with stage fright. She disarms the power her nerves have over her by admitting she has them. She wears her heart on her sleeve. "Hey, everybody! I'm really really nervous so if I sweat a lot and get really self-conscious, you understand." Everybody laughs and poof! It's all gone. In the commentary, she was accused of having "shifty eyes."
What’s especially funny was reading the translation of the commentary to the acoustic concert. It was the five of them watching the video and a lot of it was them just remembering filming or reacting to how it all turned out in the end. So much of it was concern over being too sweaty, or not knowing where to focus. But when Saiki heard Miku she talked about how different her voice sounded than for most Band Maid songs where they were asking her to yell or do a more rock voice. And Saiki said I didn’t realize how much you tie your right arm to your side to make the band better, meaning Miku has to do things that don’t suit her voice and don’t show off her actual abilities to make the band sound better.
If Alan carries on playing guitar he'll be fairly good one day. That was s'posed to induce tears of laughter but i'm sure Alan would like to express it by punching me in the head.😆
Indeed you are right. She has said her lyrics are not real or about her life experiences, but sometimes they are so deep and meaningful that I wonder. Either way, she is a genius at expressing emotion through lyric writing. And then Saiki takes over and takes the emotion to another level. But Miku is a top notch vocalist in her own right. Softer than Saiki, but just as wonderful.
@@Davey-Boyd Her lyrics may not directly relate to her personal experiences, but IMO it's impossible to write something affecting without putting some of yourself into it. I confess that I misjudged Miku in the beginning: she is a vastly more complicated and sensitive individual (with at least a little darkness in her soul) than she first appeared to me to be and I adore her for it!
I listened to the radio show that Saiki and Miku did once someone did English sub-titles. There was a moment when Miku was talking about what she does for her nephew for Christmas, and how it relates to how she approached Christmas as a kid. She told a story about some hopeful story she told herself to explain why she didn’t get fancy presents or what she really wanted for Christmas. Saiki had this moment when she suddenly seemed to see something about Miku that she hadn’t realized, and said basically, you have the strongest most beautiful heart. I share this because I think Miku had a lot of challenges in life, but she always has tried to find what is good and find happiness. In the song, it’s about how she is separated from her love, but rather than suffer heartbreak, she will stay in the dream of memories, her heart will stay in the enchantment. So she often has sadness, loss, all sorts of harder emotions in her lyrics, but also focused on finding some sort of joy or overcoming obstacles. And that seems to be all about who she has been in her life.
@@elizabethputnam6317 It's true Elizabeth. Miku has the art of always giving in her lyrics, of hope, of remaining positive, even in sad, painful or tragic situations that everyone may have experienced in their life. She speaks little of her childhood but we know that she was not happy. We feel his great sensitivity in his writings. She's a sincere, generous and sympathetic woman towards everyone. We understand why this band is so united.

this christmas version is so fun to listen when you have the album version in your head where the band plays so hard. and contrasting that Miku is such a lovely creature
The only issue I hear with Miku's guitar playing was a slight fret buzz from the capo. And I really enjoy the fact that Alan is secure enough to let music effect his emotions. Too many people hold it all in, and they are grumpy in my opinion. (Not teasing Alan, really glad you let the music and Miku's singing move your soul.)
Thank you for the kind words! Capo always have that issue there is a couple j use that are great. She is using a very standard one and that rubber can get worn down over time for sure
@@dicodec For sure on the capo. I just had to buy a replacement for mine since a small furry feline decided it was a chew toy. Knowing how much effort Miku puts in to her music, she probably has worn that one out. As for the music stirring parts of your soul, that is what music is for. Only those who are too hard headed and emotionless, or keep their emotions locked down wouldn't have a visceral reaction to many songs. I feel sorry for them. For music is an ephemeral thing of beauty, especially a live performance. To NOT be touched is wrong.
The songs when they are translated can touch you particularly. (Daydreaming, Puzzle, Anemone, Azure and others). But, IMO, it's basically the singing talents of Saiki or Miku that provides great emotion. The high note pushed by Miku at the end of Sayonakidori still gives me chills and tears in my eyes.😢
Cool breakdown. If this is the direction you were talking about on Gaijin Guys..... then I'm for it. Cool to see Erik back.... missed him. Really liking the product you guys are playing with over there..... keep tweaking it. As for Sayonakidori..... I seriously love both versions for the same and different reasons. For me both are Miku's best "solo" songs..... However, her Cluppo song - Voice, for me, is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very close 2nd.
In a setting like this, our otherwise slightly crazy pigeon mutates into a beautiful sounding nightingale and rightfully claims the spotlight all to herself for a few minutes. :) And may I suggest that you record an entire instrumental of this song with just your guitar? I think it sounds great, especially the way you play Miku's vocal part with it. 🙏🏻👍🏻
Last night, the electric version was played live at ZEP Diversity, that is very emotional and made me love this song all over again. I think it will be played by US okyuji, so I'm looking forward to their reaction.
I like it also more. Insane arrangement of Kanami and top performance of the musicians. I heard Kanami was standing not far behind Miku and so proud of her student, which is for sure reasonable. Also Akanes background....amazing and if Misa dares to use her voice more, we will have a band of 5 great voices.
Nice job you two!! For a long time, this song was my least favorite maid song - the electric version is still not my favorite but this acoustic was great and like you said, really shows that Miku can completely nail her guitar part while singing. And of course big props to the gorilla for doing background vocals!
@@eaglez1901 I like Rock in Me - I think her voice is perfect for that sort of playful song - but this one in the electric version not so much. Mainly it's the way she sings that super high part in her chest voice - it was much better suited to the falsetto she employed in the acoustic. Methinks.
