A detailed look at the 7v7 formation 1-2-3-1. Part 1: Understanding what a formation is Part 2: The 7v7 field including the "build out line" Part 3: The positions and shape of the team Part 4: Advantages and disadvantages
Thanks that really helped me my soccer coach told us to watch this video sense I have a game today 🎉thank u so much for that information that really helped that was Awesome!❤
Thx for your contend. If I search for 7v7 formations I can't found our shape. We play a 3-1-2. Have you ever tested it or can say something about it? For us the 231 (defensive problems) and the 3-2-1 (to long ways for the LB and RB ) don't worked. In the 3-1-2 we can be verry close in defense and have short ways to go. The offense 2 can move more free between the wings and the center. The one man midfielder has to organize, balance and support the Striker.
Appreciate the comment Max. I tend to lean towards a 2-3-1 as it provides a lot of balance throughout and provides me, as the coach, lots of opportunities to talk about parts of the game that are important to how I (and we as a club) want the players to play. We are a club that values possession of the ball and building the play from the back. Your formation depends on what you believe as a coach/ as a club is the right thing to do and you stick with it. Overall the 3-1-2 is a defensively solid way of playing. You defend with three so obviously it’s going to be. Only issue you might encounter is the lack of width in the attacking half of the field. Full backs can become very defensive minded playing in a 3 and if that is the intention then this will work. The CM can become a little overworked, especially if the full backs don’t push forward. Opposing teams will likely find success in playing into wide areas against you as there is nobody there to stop them when building play. And lastly, I personally would not play two up top unless I had visions of using that at 9v9 and/ or 11v11. For me, playing two up means we are probably pressing high (which is almost a mute point given the build out line restrictions at 7v7) or you are playing a more direct style of play, which makes sense if you want to get the ball forward quickly. I personally prefer a different method, but like I said earlier it’s what you and your club believe is the right method and choosing your formation is a big part of it. Good luck!
@@NextPlaySoccerTraining Thank you for the fast answer. In summary you are right 🙂 we have played the most of time in 2-3-1 but we had a massive defense leak with the second moste goals against us in the league. In the same time we had scored the third moste goals. The experience of the 3-2-1 was to much running for our wingbacks because in offense we are 1-2-3. If we get the counter we couldn't defend fast and good enough. With the 3-1-2 we have stability in defense and variability in the offense. If we have the ball the LB and the RB have to build the with nexto the midfielder, so they have shorter ways back and we are verry compact. Our strikers Have to move flexible and ball orientated. If we go on 9v9 next year I would go for 3-2-3. Do you think it's a good idea or would you go further with a nother shape? If you really read until that point I will say thank you another time and I'm verry sorry for my bad English. I'm from Germany and until now it wasn't normal to discuss in English. Wish you all the best.
@@maxtuchan679 3-3-2 is a good progression from a 3-1-2. Essentially all you are adding is two wide midfielders to what you already have. All the best!
I like the 2-3-1 as I believe it can develop the CB's the best. As they grow, the CB will understand the pairing with another CB, particularly in a 4 back line, but even in a 3 or five, the basic understanding of the partnership will be valuable.
