How to unplug a boom pump. First don’t panic. Plugging on prime out is not uncommon. Their are many factors to this happening. Bills pumping concrete with a concrete boom pump. He’s using the concrete boom pump to place concrete for this foundation. Thanks for watching!

well i love watching y’all’s videos. just about to start my 9th week as a pumper, and 2 week solo. 97 mack cabover, schwing 32m roll n fold, 9 speed. i love seeing y’all’s hardships as it helps me!

i rocked packed on prime on one job, and it blew out the straight pipe right before the elbows to the tip hose. rock packed and separated and it just burst like a tin can. i carry extra straight hoses and elbows, and extra tip hoses for that. to prime i’ve been using 1-2 bags of slick willie and fill with water halfway up the cylinder holes

@@joeljackson8237 if you blew a straight before the tip, you may want to check your pipes for thickness or spin them. Also, slick Willie 3 works great, never had very good luck with plain ole slick Willie. My favorite primer so far is Fritzpak. Been pumping concrete now for 16 years, I'm definitely proud to say that.

I'm always amazed by how those guys never fall into one of those trenches you can't see when everything is covered with concrete. The other thing I think is what a hard working group they always are.

Yes your right. After you fall into a couple you develop a sense about where they are.

Nice work with getting the plug sorted so quick! You guys should get a reducing tip hose when you replace that one. Helps reduce so much of the splatter

@@MuddyfeetConcretePumping we use one daily with an air cuff.. makes for a nice clean pour without all the dribbles, and not having to worry’s much about air pockets forming in the boom pipe

I prefer steel reduction to a straight hose. Much better for mud balls or rocks that get through. I used a 5 to 3 reduction hose for a few years but the steel reduction and straight 3 or 4 is better in my opinion. Pump on brothers

Halliburton poly bore Dry polymer granules Or Pro slurry 2 Both work great, you'll never plug unless the mix is so jacked up you won't even send any further in the pump.

Gota get yourself slick pak for prime out. Our cost is 5 bucks a bag and we charge 35 for the prime out. Second job of day it’s less necessary to use but when pipes r dry it prevents this situation most times. Where I work contractors have a cost of thousands per hour here in NY and they don’t appreciate any hold up

I would rather not use it. I’m willing to bet guys have plugged jut as much as we have using it. It doesn’t happen that often. When it does we show it on the video.

So when you plug in the boom on the prime you reverse it a few strokes, see if it falls back then hammer forward again?

Try not to hammer on it to hard. Sometimes that just make matters worst. It’s best trying to break it up by reversing the pump.

We’re in California earth quakes all the time I kind of enjoy the shake. It was a light blue rebar looking mat on 30” centers. Or about that. I enjoy your videos a lot. We use to tear them down and rebuild leaving a small portion of some foundation so it could be called a remodel
