One my MY favorite lines? "It wasn't me it was Ignacio!" - "You're not with Don Lalo?!" you know... like, who are those guys? the world may never know. ;)
Great episode. Not only is it just terrific on its own merits but it introduces one of the best characters and is a serious turning point in the story.
@@johns6014 God, you actually ended up writing three paragraphs lol I'm not reading all that, dude. Don't get so emotional, it's embarrassing. Out here acting like you're Gore Vidal, stupid twat.
@@johns6014 What a self-masturbatory prick with imaginary scenarios. This is a RU-vid comment section, not the Octagon. Listen, bitch, stop telling people what the show entails. Prequel, sequel, prequel to a sequel. They'll find out on their own. Got it? Now stop fucking replying.
@@mem1701moviesI respect you as a person and I think you’re entitled to your opinion, especially when it comes to highly subjective things like art and media. But also this might be the worst take I’ve ever heard. El Camino was pretty mid though, that’s fair.
Bob Odenkirk (Saul) actually suggested the comb-over/mullet combo himself. Great visual addition to the character! I always love people's reactions to the line, 12:57 "The Jew thing I just do for the homeboys, they want a pipe-hitting member of the tribe, so to speak..." 😂🤣
DJ Qualls (the narc undercover) is amazing in-person, and I had a hilarious experience with him that involved me forgetting he was in an ensemble film (one of his first he had like 4 lines maybe?); it was 3 am at a bar in New Orleans and I was rattling off the names of each actor and he just chimes in from the back area "HEY I WAS IN THAT MOVIE TOO, ASSHOLE" and the whole bar erupted in laughter. Ya'll might know him from Supernatural as Garth, and the film The New Guy (hilarious)
Saul’s introduction is perfect and it’s a great way to show how the character is right off the bat and the more this show goes on you see glimpses as to the kind of person who Saul really is. Of course in Better Call Saul, you see how he becomes Saul Goodman, but it’s cool how the more Saul becomes a prominent character on Breaking Bad, the more you get to see bits of the real guy behind the persona. Especially since he tells Walt his real last name is McGill. Man, that was a lot more than I intended to write. Anyway, great reaction guys. Take care!
really think it's amazing how Vince Gilligan crafted an entire spinoff and prequel/sequel based on one line in the desert scene. He did such a good job that you almost think at times he had the whole thing planned from the start. But he didn't.
Why do you only mention Vince and not the entire staff? Vince didn't work on BCS for a while and he was even against the introduction of Lalo, because it was just a random line. Like Peter Gould and Tom Schnauz... give them some credit.
Better Call Saul for the most part it is a prequel covering events of Saul and other characters, most of who you haven't seen yet in the BB series, in the six years leading up to the events of breaking bad.
Another great reaction! I'm enjoying your discussions around mental health stigmas, especially your perceptive perspectives on Hank's panic attacks. As someone who for most of my life never experienced an attack, than had it hit one day out of the blue (I was driving and had to pull over on the side of the road... I had no idea how to deal with it until it passed), you really learn to appreciate other peoples' struggles with panic attacks and those kind souls who try to understand and empathize what we go through. And unless I'm mistaken, Arianna, I believe you said you had dealt with this sort of thing yourself, so you don't need me to tell you anything about how bad it can be!
Saul is easily one of my favorite characters in this. Hes obviously street smarts and very scummy, but he really knows how to game the system to his favor. without spoiling anything, you'll grow to like AND hate Saul more and more. His schemes are so fun to see unfold
Better Call Saul is primarily a prequel but there are some scenes from Breaking Bad and post breaking bad. It's meant to build upon the entire story of Breaking Bad and not just Saul's story.
Lole others have said better call saul is a prequel and honestly if you started now it wouldn't spoil anything in breaking bad if you did a similar format of 1 a week cause your far enough in and it might be interesting to run them parallel to each other the only thing I would say for sure is don't watch El Kamino till you finish breaking bad
Rewatching this after BCS is so satisfying (especially after THAT scene with a certain female lawyer..) - Saul’s character introduction is an all timer
17:15 Attorney-client privilege does not start when the lawyer gets paid. It starts when you expect to get confidential communications relating to legal advice as a client from a lawyer. Also ACP does not apply if the lawyer helps in anything concerning crime or fraud.
@@MapleDivine That's a separate thing. The money is simply for the lawyer to agree to keep giving you advice or do other legal work for you, otherwise they can just end the relationship for unpaid work and stop giving advice. However, anything they tell you or anything you tell them, with or without money, falls under ACP assuming the conditions I listed above are followed. It's why lawyers are always hesitant to give specific legal advice (they can give general opinions on stuff as long as they are not tailored to your specific facts) or give disclaimers if they do. The attorney-client relationship forms, even if temporarily, once the person who wants legal advice reasonably expects to gets it from a lawyer upon telling them specific facts. Money is good evidence of that relationship but not required.
Oh, relax people.. Skyler just has a work husband is all, nbd, its a totally normal thing these days!.. tons of girls in their "starter marriages" have "work hubbys" if the Reddit TwoXChromosomes is anything to go by..
For me the show took off in Season 1 Episode 3 where Walter needed any good reason not to finish off Domingo, and found the broken piece of plate. That whole situation and the way he said "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" as he did it was such good acting and compelling television.
I didn't remember that he mentioned "McGill" in this episode. Great reaction. Can't wait until you get to Episode 11. And then the tsunami waves start rolling in little by little until the huge tidal waves in seasons 4 and 5
So (as many others have already mentioned): Better Call Saul (IIRC) seasons 1-5 happen as a prequel/parallel story (of Saul's world) PRIOR to the events of Breaking Bad. The end of season 5 and part of season 6 (of Better Call Saul) happen during Breaking Bad, then the end of season 6 of Better Call Saul happens AFTER Breaking Bad ends. So: "prequel, prequel, prequel, prequel, parallel, sequel", essentially. :D
I have legit been waiting since y'all started this journey for this episode! Saul is such a hilarious addition to the cast while still managing to speak some real truths to the situations Walt and Jesse find themselves in. A true and unashamedly honest crook!! Do you want a criminal lawyer or do you want a CRIMINAL lawyer? 😂
I hope yall react to Better Call Saul, the prequel/sequel series to Breaking Bad!!! It shows what happened before AND after BB. Its arguably just as good or even better than Breaking Bad!!!
I believe they feel like in the context of Walter demanding so much from Jessie while not doing as much work or taking as much risk, he is not in a position to ask even more
Saul is the star of the show in this episode (and much of the series), but watching Hank bottle everything up (pun intended) breaks my heart. I feel like if this show was the driving force behind any sort of health care reform because of Walt, then it should have been the same for men's mental health because of Hank.
It's not good, but it's fun" Huh? What's "not good" about it? This is one of the more important episodes of this series. Not a good sign if you think it's "not good".
They both said the episode was good a couple of different times during this reaction. What part was the, 'It's not good, but it's fun' line? Because I'm sure the context is important there.
oh i think we edited out the context on accident. in the full version i think they were talking about the characters antics and she was saying the antics arent good but they're fun. they really like the show. if they didnt think it was good i'd stop doing it cause no one wants to watch a reaction to a show where the reactors don't like it.
Unfortunately too many people think that that's true. But fortunately it isn't true. So the only thing keeping you from being who you are is you yourself.
@@Jehty_unfortunately, that's true when you are a man. Society despises "weak" men, if you show weakness in front of other people, you better be ready to be treated like a joke. People may act all understading and thoughtful online, but in real life, it doesn't work like that.
I see you shaking your heads alot over things that r said. This came out before wokeness destroyed the whole entertainment industry. This is back when the entire country still had a sense of humor no matter what race they were
@@LtDan-rk4si I mean they’re enjoying breaking bad so they might enjoy Sopranos. I rarely see them get offended either? If you’re talking about being annoyed with Badger that’s understandable
@@LtDan-rk4si bro, and what happens with the people who defends walter after like episode 5, when it's revealed that he does all this for his ego rather than for his family 💀💀. He's literally indefendable after that
@@azamatlalayev4746Why are there people still confused about this? It's explicitly stated by Hank that Domingo (Krazy-8) was the snitch and not Emilio.
@@samuelchallis3420 thats an interesting example. at the time of writing the OT Lucas had a rough outline for Clone Wars in mind. as far as i know BCS and a lot of the characters in it were not conceived of at the time of writing this episode.
@@archstanton664 I honestly would laugh when people would say that. But after watching it all, I was shocked to actually like it even better than BB lol.
Better Call Saul came out after Breaking Bad but it's done as a prequel. You should 100% watch it after you're done with Breaking Bad. I've seen both shows multiple times and Better Call Saul is even better.
And you deprived them of discovering that for themselves. Quit spoiling. With the amount of yahoos like you commenting spoilers, they won't even need to watch the show it will already be layed out for them
