They might be psycho killers but they wouldn't just randomly shoot a family that's done them no harm. To them this is that once in a blue moon, the wind blowing in the right direction doing something good for someone,, it justifies all the horrible killing and bloodshed.

@@billross9132 we dont know if they killed the elder woman for the car, the cousins are cold and ruthless but they are not stupid, the more death they leave behind the more tracks there will be but better leaving tracks than witnesses, thats why they shot everyone inside the truck, cause they now knew they were with the cartel.

I love how Breaking Bad starts as this tragic, but pretty realistic story about a loser teacher with an ordinary family and manages to keep it's civil and grounded tone throughout, despite surreal shit like this popping up every now and then.
You were right, he was an amazing teacher but he was still a "loser" and completely unsatisfied with his life. He was worked part time at a carwash and was treated like trash, he wasn't respected by his students or colleagues, he gave up a multi-million dollar company, and left his former lover. What was impressive here was the speed at which they passed judgement. In the middle of nowhere, and without much daylight left, they gave up the car without a second thought. And they walked away as fast as they had made up their mind. Now that right there is integrity.

I always thought this scene when he starred at the little girl; he was imagining which option they should take. Kill the whole family, or bribe them with their vehicle. Obviously they're sociopaths; so they may have been judging the girls reaction to them to see which they would do. She stayed silent; so they choose the latter. Either works just as well. They'd be afraid to tell anyone where they got the vehicle, and also thankful for it.
THE MOST bad ass scene in the whole breaking bad show, the silence which says more than any word possible, genius directing, acting, music, faces everything !!!!
When you have a character get blown up; half his body (namely face) is missing skin and bone exposed, and yet be alive enough to walk out and fix his tie, anything is possible on this show.
This was really a badass scene. Kudos to the director for the drama. I thought for sure they were going to kill someone but, wow it was intense that they didn't lol
I also really loved them and wished they lasted longer. Some people felt they were "gimicky" and I guess they were but I think that's only because they were never given much of a chance to really make an impact. And that saddens me because I really wanted to get to know them better.
