Actually hes talking about himself the band is called breaking benjamin for a reason hes only singing about his life journey that love hes talking about is god and bc he knows the truth about himself that his sins will still be answered for saved or not makes him just as unforgiven as every other evil man but come judgement day the lord will show him grace

In the end the purpose of the song is to take it as you need it every syllable is empowered by the carriers expression only only the individual hearing the words can give it any meaning
