I was just trying to help people out. Quite frankly, I'm surprised this video has received as much attention as it has. Appreciate the support, though. :)
Chris Hooper Thank you. I appreciate that. Just trying to help out. If you have any tutorial or cover requests shoot me a comment. I have a few in mind but,am always open to suggestions.
Thanks. Appreciate that. I may do a Cover of it in the future. I've been eyeing a few different songs to do, including a couple Breaking Benjamin songs. Stay tuned!
Might want to check on those chorus chords. Found a live video of Benjamin Burley playing it and it looks like he's playing what songsterr's tab is saying which is X46654 for a measure, then X79977 for a measure, then X02450 for two measures. But everything else on point, of course the solo would be played differently with an electric, but that definitely works if you're just featuring an acoustic.
Actually it isn't half step down. Ben plays Baritone guitars because his voice can only go so high and he usually tunes in B and B flat, this still works though.
You are correct that a lot of the songs Ben writes and plays are Baritone. However, there are a few exceptions, especially with some of the older BB songs. This song is one of those exceptions. You can find live performances of this song where he plays in this tuning, which is also the studio tuned version. Thanks for watching!
i tried this and i used a chromatic tuner to tune half step then the drop d and ion know if it’s because the tuner didn’t work right and its not accurately tuned or if its just the barre chords but i cant get it to sound like you do or the song it sounds almost like its out of tune but it doesn’t make sense
A few things to try; 1: Make sure your strings aren't too loose. If they are, they won't tune correctly. 2: If you believe your electric tuner may be an issue, try looking up a Drop Db (Or Drop D Flat) Guitar Tuning video and attempt it by ear. Learning by ear is very important for on-the-fly adjusting. 3: This may or may not be an option for you but I believe there are guitar tuning Phone Apps you can download as well that may make the process easier. My guitar in this video was not tuned perfectly either and the video quality doesn't help I'm sure. However, it is close enough to learn it. Good luck!
Understanding Silence wow i didn’t expect any help so soon but thank you i will try to do it by ear considering that probably is a very good thing to learn, im still learning but all i have to get down is hammer ons which are kinda tricky and i need to work a bit on barre chords so ill add ear tuning to the list
Trying to learn this right now but my fingers hurt as hell and in like 50 tries I only managed to make that sequence successfully once, what am I doing wrong?
The best advice I can give is "practice, practice, practice". Find out what you're having issues with and work on that. Your fingers have to build up strength and endurance, especially if you don't play often or aren't an experienced player. Barring across all strings or stretching fingers across 4+ frets can be uncomfortable at first. You just need to practice. You'll get there. :)
Ryan Ryan Practice. The best thing to do is run 4 fret finger drills or work on 4 fret Bar chords. It shouldn't take too long. You just have to stretch them a little.
