Now, according to journalist Bob Nightengale, who spoke with Doug McKain from Dodgers Nation, the contract Hernández is likely looking for in free agency is around five years for over $100 million. To get more specific, we're talking about a four-year deal worth $100 million, with an option for a fifth year that could push the total to $125 million. That makes sense when you compare it to other players at Teoscar’s level, like Giancarlo Stanton and George Springer, who are earning around $25 million per season.
The only question is how this will impact other Dodgers talents. We’ve got our top prospect, Dalton Rushing, who is already showing a lot of potential in the minors and could be the future of the Dodgers. But with Betts locked in right field and Hernández excelling in left, is it worth keeping Teoscar long-term, possibly using Rushing as a trade piece?
