@@seansimpson4472 I watched his Buffalo field dressing with his obsidian knife he made and it was awesome. He also tested various types of projectiles from the Atlatl on the Buffalo to see if it was actually viable. It was. Very much so.
We are watching you with the whole my family from Poland, you are a great guy. You teach amazing, everything is useful in the forest at the campsite. Greatings from Poland.
Thank you for this video! Your explanation of how to hit and why, and the purpose of the 3 stones was so to the point. I have attended a day long class on flint knapping and could not get the hang of it. I gave up on trying thinking that it was my fault. Now I believe I could have another go at it. I would like to make an atlatl point.
I really like these longer videos explaining the basics coupled with the shorts. Showing where you start and where you CAN end up with enough practice. Knapping is something I've been interested in for a while I've been blacksmithing on and off for a year I think knapping would be cool to get into in-between. Thanks man! 28 yo male from Tennessee.
Man thanks for the info. I’ve got a cool collection,I’ve got all the ones you listed and more but the neat thing about some of them is you can feel how they held them and see how it was grasped. 😊
My goal is to be as primal as this guy. Rock on man! Living the dream! I have just one question: where do you find the flint? Do you buy it or find it?
Donny, first off, still a big fan. Just used your video on what to look for in rocks to know if they're good for flintknappong. Didn't find any good stones to Knap but found good hammer stones. I cant seem to find anything good to knap in the cariboo chilcotin region of BC, (just incase you've been here and have any advice) could you do a video on glass?
I don't know if you have covered it already in this awesome series, but can you show us how to break up antlers to make antler tools for flintknapping? I've got some laying around, but fear to destroy them if i just cut them up.
Very nice product from a hobby. Could you tell us, are those round stones quartz? Have you actually learned any names of your rocks? Ever asked a rock person? Just so you could tell us? Its a great hobby.
Donny… I can’t find any stone where I live. I’ve gone to the river, in different spots, and I’ve gone to where I find flakes and all I can find are baseball or grapefruit size rock and when I hit the stones it is taking out huge chunks but not flakes. I’ve watched every video on it and I still suck.
