Jeritza is one of those characters that suffers from his unique class just being too cool. Like the lords, I always use Jeritza when he is recruited and always keep him in Death Knight, while picking up skills from other classes. It took me until this current CF run to do something different with Edelgard, going for a magic-oriented build this time. I want to do the same with Jeritza, but he has so many boons and is such an amazing unit all around I don’t even know where to start lmao
Jeritza is the closest thing Three Houses has to a Gotoh/Athos type. He isn't *that* broken compared to other characters like that (and he also doesn't join in the literal last map), but I've always enjoyed using those kinds of characters.
Jeritza proved to me that wyvern rider is just a better class than even many master classes. I like the player phase build particularly and jeritza can kill just about anyone but swordmasters with a silver axe, brave axe and a hammer. And the fact that i never managed to get his skills high enough to class into wyvern lord barely hurt at all. It was still leagues ahead of death knight, given how potent flying is in crimson flower.
It's a real shame that Jeritza is locked to Cindered Shadows, as his late join time and the short length of the route make training him a bit difficult without rusted weapon cheese. Absolutely fantastic unit and the only way to learn Counterattack (without the DLC) and the only male unit to learn Darting Blow. This can work really well with Brawling and Bat Desperation (Four hits before the enemy can attack). Even comes with Mastermind to help the training process.
Yeah I’m glad that since crimson flower lock you out with some characters, you given an powerhouse of unit that was giving a lot of pain in the first half
Oh yeah and he's *technically* not the only male unit with Darting Blow, only playable one I suppose but Felix get's darting blow as an enemy unit for some reason.
This was so helpful. I’m thinking of replaying CF and I was wondering what to do with Jeritza both in terms of the overwhelming number of abilities he comes with or can obtain easily and also in terms of classes. I’m definitely going PP with him because I hate battalion juggling. Bat Desperation sounds like a fun skill to run on him. You’ve given me a lot of ideas. Thanks so much!
I love this dude and only wish I could use him more, but when you get him he is very very useful, slapping Mercedes on as his adjutant to boost his might and learning his budding talent is all the investment he really needed, leveling Riding to A+ for move+1 is also a nice bonus. I haven't finished my CF Maddening run yet, Derdriu took me so fucking long to finish with it's painful reinforcements, but he pretty much replaced Caspar because I don't think I've ever had a Caspar turn out good. Regardless he was very helpful for that map with his bulkiness and damage output.
In my first playthrough I only ended up recruiting Felix out of house, so I had room for Jeritza and he ended up being really strong straight away for me
the lowest investment Jeritza I have messed with is Vantage (base level reclass to hero, or master with mercenary), Wrath (gamble warrior and master after bumping up axes two ranks), and Counter attack (from death knight mastery). During the two months it will take to get his axes up: Use auxiliary battles with weak enemies to hit Jeritza when he isn't holding a weapon on defensive terrain so he can get class EXP safely (4 * number of enemies targeting him every turn. This translates to 13 turns of waiting for death knight, 10 turns for warrior, and 7 turns for mercenary as long as he is completely surrounded with the mastermind skill without the exp orb which will go to other units who need it more). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zrUoO0f0Gqo.html this video has an okay interpretation of how to do this if you don't understand but anyway: No matter what skill level player you are, you make his enemy phase build for as little as 8 meals (can be replaced with gifts if you are short on time) that translate to 8 full lessons so long as you deploy him for 2 - 3 easy battles and have axes as his only skill. Effectively he has a full build before chapter 16. Now I am realizing this is a horrible Idea, not as early as I had hoped, exp curve hits hard on maddening. let this be a lesson, don't think you know anything just because you did it and thought it was early.
He was added to the game after the game was released as a patch, if you only played it once when the game first came out, then jeritza wouldn't have been available, if you replayed cf now though, he should be available
