I'm relatively new to walleye fishing after fishing bass my whole life. I moved into walleye country (northern ontario) 3 years ago. These videos are SO valuable for me learning technique, especially headed to new lakes in the summer months, so thank you!!!

The north is great for learning as the walters are more plentiful. What has surprised me is how much shallower they are than I was always taught in southern ontario.

Tom! Thank you!! My success with catching walleye (sometimes called pickerel in my part of Ontario) has skyrocketed since discovering your channela few weeks ago!!! Last week, a pb for the number of fish caught in a single day. Sunday, my second largest ever caught at 24in. Yesterday, 6 in one hour in very tough weather conditions. I'm catching fish in lakes other fishermen are skeptical about. I'm catching fish as other boats are having minimal luck. I'm talking to fishermen at the launch who've been skunked after I had a decent catch. Using your tips and techniques have helped so much, my focus has shifted away from bass fishing to getting better at targeting walleye.

Does Ontario not have actual Pickerel? I've always been confused how fish pick up the names of other fish.

It would be great if when u say “ a lot of these fish aren’t biting super good today” if u would include the weather condition for that day . Barometric pressure / wind etc . Same on days where your hammering them . Thanks for all the vids 👍

@@TomBoley it’s a beautiful enormous lake with a lot different bays, and structure. Muskie and good walleye. Also fun to see the multi million dollar properties. Someone said “it’s the best fishing lake in the state”, although can’t totally agree with that one. Winnie is my vote.

Tom these are great video, great information but could you please do a video on heavily pressured waters, heavily pressured boat traffic waters. When I get to go fishing the lakes and river that I can get to with 1 to 2 hour drive are just heavily pressured waters. It would be amazing to see how you adjust and breakdown.

Another great video Tom. This lake in this video has a lot of similarities to the lake I fish in Northern Wisconsin, green tint, 30' basin with a fair amount of humps. I have had consistent success on weed edges (about 7' deep) but only at dusk. I struggle, as many do on this lake, finding walleye during the day, even using the walleye now app and your true and tested pointers. I have spent many, many hours cruising basin, humps, points, and yes weed edges during the day but do not mark anything but bait fish. Are the walleye tucking themselves into weed beds during the day? or does my lake just plain suck for walleye? Help! If you are ever looking for a new lake that has a seriously challenging day bite let me know.
