As a rockets fan, I think what this move is is that we're praying on the suns downfall more so for booker, not KD. I know what Woj said but I just refuse to believe they would want someone as old as KD is to pair with there young core as well as trade valuable assets for him. I think this is more so of a "let's see how this phoenix things plays out over the years and when it does we can pounce on booker and give them the best possible offer "
KD (36) is too old for Rockets young core. OKC brought Gordon Hayward into their locker room, and it didn't work out well. If Phoenix doesn't make the playoff or eliminated in first round next season, they will enter rebuild sooner or later. Devin Booker will be the only player Rockets should target.
KD isn’t going to the Rockets. This trade means the FO is good with our current core 6 and is pushing back draft capital and cap space to later years. Essentially betting on the downfall of the Suns more than the Nets. Aside from losing the possible Cooper Flagg draft pick, the move is solid. If the Nets get Flagg, then yeah, this trade could be bad in hindsight…but that’s TBD at this stage.

Let me make it simple for you HOU ties with BKN are off HOU have 25 PHX Swap, 27 PHX pick, 29 PHX Swap BKN still have 28 PHX Swap but since BKN will suck so don’t have much value PHX will not be a good team around that time so if PHX don’t trade KD they’ll get burn and if they trade KD to HOU they’ll get Jalen Green and 3rd pick plus the picks back. This will be the first team since GSW that KD goes to that didn’t get gutted out and he still have couple good years left. So it’s a win win situation for HOU
What you fail to realize is that those nets picks wouldn't even be bad enough for a high lottery pick if the rockets still had them. Now the Brooklyn owns them they will bottom out and tank and set themselves up for a high draft pick but if Houston owned it they never would've traded bridges/tank. You can't look at things like that because that's not how it likely would have played out (barring injury)
The suns will regret this because KD will be 36 very soon if they hold on to him for 1 more years a 37 year kd is not getting the same package 35 year kd would get right now especially if he comes off another 1st round sweep
Rockets can sign Jalen to the max rookie extension and test him out for a half year and decide either keep him or trade him to the PHX for KD by the trade deadline. If Jalen breaks out they can keep him and just cook PHX future pick.
I don't understand why U would bet on the downfall of the Suns, when the downfall of the Nets is slapping u in the face. Nets will have the worst record next year. I hate this move
Dude they got swept by the wolves and a hungry young ANT. There’s no coming back from that as a Sun there’s no depth there these teams in the playoffs are younger and teams like the nuggets are sending a Lebron team home. Kd gotta join a team that has that youth and excellent coaching to get over these teams. Top heavy teams with no bench and just 2 stars won’t do it. Booker can score but then no one else is a threat and he goes missing in big games
Are you serious 😂 Its way easier to rebuild in the weak East than West. Even bad teams make the playoffs in the East. West teams have young cores set in place theyre ahead of rebuild. Suns future the next decade is dark af and they dont have any of their picks and 0 young core.😂 Nobody would wanna play in Phx when theres better young cores to join in the West
BKN nets are in the East and many team will stat tanking in the East while in the West 13 out of 15 teams will compete so even if you try to win you can ended up 13th seed with average team where in the East you can have average team and still have chance for play in
He made no brainer decisions. Nets could easily make it to play in even with shitty team in the East when DET, WAS, ATL, TOR, CHI and CHA tanking harder than everyone else where in the West even if you try to win you gonna be 13th seed with a average team.
