Okay So I used to coach at the division 3 college and high school level but it’s been a minute. You know so much more than I do about today’s football. I’m impressed by your knowledge. I know what 12 personnel is but you know how we are going to use it. Great job.

@Steelers_DB Great interview!!!! Arthur Smith is an outside zone guy. But I hope he isn’t dogmatic with it, as the Steelers have athletic interior offensive lineman to run pull-gap concepts. Besides, Najee Harris is better running north and south in gap. Asking him to run stretch isn’t his strong suit; he isn’t shifty and his vision is not that good. In short, it makes more sense for the Steelers to run a hybrid blocking scheme using both gap and zone.

There's very few real secrets in football. Every team has access to so much information that most people don't even realize. Plus, if opposing defensive coordinators are coming to this channel for help, they probably shouldn't be coaching at the NFL level. Those guys are a lot more qualified and knowledgable than I am lol

A good mix of Zone n Gap running will be the best for the offense so Smith can use his RBs to the best of their abilities.

Based on what we've seen at the practices, does it seem like we are going to be running the normal Smith outside zone? I know there was talk of potentially switching to a gap scheme with how our personnel line up.

I honestly hope he focuses on a scheme that fits the players strengths on the O line. Not just sticking with mostly outside zone. Definitely not a strength of Naji Harris. I like jalen Warren's height and explosiveness. Line Backers have a hard time seeing Warren past all of the linemen.

@@Steelers_DB I agree. If he is hard headed and stuck in his ways this will get dark. Especially in our division with the defenses we will face multiple times a year. If he innovates off what he likes, we will be fine!
