@Luke T.E she wasn't saying she was black, she was repeating something from the video that was stated. That's why it's in quotes, those aren't her words, it's from the person in the video. She merely was saying "about 27 minutes of the video spoke to her".

This conversation is 100% life and truth . Based on American historical facts.She took a lot from ADOS founders William Darity, Antonio Moore and Yvette Carnell. That's who the BC should have on as guest too.

How do you know that? as Antonio like to say look at the data, so if she look at the data and history, wouldn't she come to the same conclusion that Yvette, Antonio and Mr Darity came to? so how can you sit there and say she took a lot from them? if you was to do the research you should get the same results. like you said "This conversation is 100% life and truth" they say when you hear the truth you'll know it

@Blackskinis AmazingADOS is not right about everything, but this is looking more and more like crisis-pimping, with it being absent a gameplan, any accountability, or any advocacy for Descendants. The thing where ADOS "spokespeople" want to be credited makes sense, also is a little silly and is not everyone's fight. However, not crediting contributors CAN be 101 course-level work on co-opting, sidetracking and cashing-out a movement that has been very vocal about having a agenda beyond the re-hashing of history.

@knightwatchman
@knightwatchman 4 года назад
@@kwamezulushabazz I disagree. Their point is to blame the English and not anyone else for bringing slaves here. My argument is ... if they say; "The FIRST black slaves brought here were brought in 1619" that's a lie. And my point is ... if you START a narrative with a lie, the WHOLE narrative is a lie. Better they said; "The first slaves brought here BY ENGLISH COLONISTS were brought here in 1619". I would not have an issue with that. What this "project" is trying to do is blame the English colonists, who then revolted, which led to the American Revolution, which when the USA was formed in 1787 did NOT abolish slavery, which makes the founding of the USA immoral, which should lead to the overhaul of the Constitution. This project has a means to an end.

POWERFUL. "It's the same thing that goes into the idea of building a statue to a man where the only reason we even know his name is because he experimented on enslaved women but we only care that he innovated gynecology as a field. So. We're constantly asked to erase this legacy of slavery." One thing I will add is that it's essential that we not practice erasure within our own community when it comes to certain groups within our own community. I've seen Black men dismiss and attempt to erase some of the struggles Black ADOS women face to focus on the "bigger issues at hand". I've seen hetero/cis-gendered people try to erase some of the struggles Black LGBTQ+ ADOS people face. Erasure is a part of white culture that I've even seen some people who claim to be pro-Black practice. Even Black leaders that I've learned from. We, ADOS, have to be invested in all of us. I will also say that we haven't "overcome every obstacle". Most of us lived poor and died poor. Didn't overcome poverty. Died too soon from health issues due to lack of resources. Didn't make it out of food deserts. Got stuck in the revolving door of the industrial complex. Etc. We're still at the bottom because we weren't made to fly in these conditions. We aren't supernegroes.

“The white race is the biggest murderer, rapist, pillager and thief of the modern world.” She’s still going at it. “No aspect of the country that would be formed here has been untouched by the 250 years of slavery that followed,” Hannah-Jones wrote for The 1619 Project. That many whites were “indentured servants” (i.e., slaves) and that blacks often owned other blacks, apparently haven’t registered with her.

@@Spooner125 Hannah-Jones’ recent writings are rife with woke clichés. “Systemic racism,” “white privilege,” “mass incarceration” - they’re all there. It is little wonder, then, that her employer these past several years has been the radicalized New York Times. Executive Editor Dean Baquet, himself black, hired her in 2015 to cover race-related issues. She proved an apt employee, so much so that the MacArthur Foundation in 2017 rewarded her with a five-year, $625,000 “genius” grant.

What frustrates me the most is how some people point at the exception of black wealth and use that to make the claim "anyone can do it if you work hard."
@maryjohnson1890
@maryjohnson1890 2 года назад
Because it's true. Anyone in 2022 can become whatever they want. If you aspire to be a rich intelligent person you can be. Look at this lady Hannah. She's black and she made it. Y'all looking for an excuse to be a lazy good for nothing.
@alondathomas293
@alondathomas293 Год назад
@@maryjohnson1890 What an ignorant-ass, stupid-ass thing to say. Your assumption that only a black person wants to be lazy and good-for-nothing simply because they're black is nothing but an old, tired-ass racist stereotype that white people have always loved to spread about black people throughout American history, regardless of how hard they worked them to death, especially in the South. That's why you need to check your own racism, and look at how ignorant, stupid, and very fucking racist what you just said was. Black people do not have a claim on being "lazy and good for nothing"---you find people like that in every race, culture and country. That is not just a "black thing". As a black person, I find what you said very fucking ignorant and offensive as hell. So cut the bullshit, please. And claiming every black person should be able to make it because a handful made it completely ignores that everyone does not always have the support structure--a decent family and someone to guide/ encourage them to make it. Plus nobody ever tells white people that bullshit. Obviously you didn't listen to this interview, or you wouldn't have said something so stupid and ignorant.

Black People never were allowed to gain true wealth. That was state and federal laws. We’ve never recovered. Rich entertainers and pro athletes are gross anomalies of Black progress. Black People in America truly live in a retro Apartheid environment and gentrification creating South Africa like townships and sundown towns. Great show!

In 1619, there was no United States of America! Those that formed the Colonies into a united entity saw slavery as wrong . . . which is why the 'Declaration of Independence' was worded as it was. While existing in an obviously racist environment, we had people striving to make this new united from of government a kind of placed where the rights of the people were predominant over the government itself . . . a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. We see the roots of the elimination of slavery were in the minds of the forefathers because, within almost 30 years of the founding of the United States of America, it became illegal to import slaves from Africa or the West Indies! By the 1860's, America had a Civil War to eliminate slavery altogether . . . and President Lincoln signed the 'Emancipation Proclamation' which is no doubt part of the reason he was murdered by assassination by John Wilkes Booth! To think the United States is a racist nation is folly and ignorant of the truth and reality . . . the '1619 Project' is more an attempt at spreading reality in the form of half-truths and propaganda, than an attempt at the spreading of enlightenment through education. It is all to obvious that slaves were brought to North America well before 1619 . . . but the originators of the '1619 Project' seem to have forgotten who sold these slaves in the first place! It was from their own people that gathered these slave up while still in Africa . . . Africans sold their own people into slavery and these slaves went to many places other than just to North America! But these 'truths' don't fit the narrative of the '1619 Project' and will never be revealed by them!

Thomas Jefferson plagiarized John Locke of France regarding “ life, liberty, and property”. Jefferson stated in the preamble “ life , liberty, and the pursuit of happiness which I believe remains to be plagiarism. This was not Jefferson’s heart felt sentiment, only a stolen phrase he utilized to coin an hypothetical document that is the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. The SCOTUS DENIED African Americans the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in 1896 Plessey vs. Ferguson, the ruling that stripped African Americans of the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. Nikole-Hannah I salute you for your dedication to humanity.
