I love how he's so patient on his routes. There's clearly a sense of urgency/respect for the timing, but even when he gets held or he has to do some fancy footwork it never feels like the DB makes him rush his route.
That's his best attribute. Lots of receivers are equally talented as Kupp but his timing is what sets him apart. He knows exactly when to speed up or slow down. The infamous no look pass in the sb wasn't just luck, Cooper knew he was getting the ball when he saw Matt looking away from him. His own words were he looked back and saw Matt looking away so he knew he was getting the ball. That along with where/when he sped up were crucial to that completion.
@@BeeaReyoU. Actualy it’s his footwork that is his best attribute and. He has the best footwork in the NFL. His footwork, timing and other things derives from his worth ethic. Like Jerry Rice he has insane work ethic, So it’s his work ethic that really is his best attribute.

I feel like ramsey lowkey elevated his game..I mean going up against one of if not the best corner rn week after week at practice will surely elevate your game.
@@buddygass3728 I'd probably say Ramsey. I think Kupp is God tier don't get me wrong, but Kupp isn't built to win the 1 on 1 against the best. He wins with brutal efficiency, incredible intelligence, and excellent route running. I'd say over the middle and short Kupp would win a couple of those, but anything 15+ yards is Ramsey's territory
@@radioactiveape1652 it depends on how good the ball is throw if it’s a perfect ball I think he can beat Ramsey anywhere he also got elite hands I agree he would have the hardest time beating him deep but he would toast Ramsey short especially since ramsey a lot of times will let the receiver have a bit of room
A great video. My childhood team the great LosAngeles Rams won the Superbowl in their own stadium. A dream come true for the city and the fans of our great team the LosAngeles Rams.
It was a big adjustment. Especially our run game. Long time rams fans know that kupp and woods are a special group of receivers that is willing to block like a tight end. Was really sad that Bobby Trees couldn’t play towards the end
That’s my gritty, high-motor, feel for the game, intelligent, understands the position, not the fastest, good hands, in the film room, hardworking, daughter dater wide receiver

He may not be the most hyped or outspoken WR but he does everything asked of him to the best of his ability. I Don't now what else you can ask for from a WR. Team player!
@@tugboat6940 I am pretty sure he would. Comparatively, Jerry Rice was very quiet and let his performance speak volumes. Small dogs yip to compensate. One low growl from a big dog and everybody runs.
@@Iggyboyblue one that doesn't matter and two there's so many black players like that too, but nobody ever mentions them. Have you ever once seen Derek Henry celebrate? Great breakdown! I've been reliving this journey so many times... doesn't get old. So glad to be a Rams fan and to have enjoyed watching Kupp since day one. They are such an amazing duo. I hope they keep this up again.
i've always been critical of WR play, so to me kupp's greatest skills are his body positioning and ball handling. so he's always putting himself in position to keep the ball away from the defender
he has to cause he was not gifted with great speed or vertical, but his routes, hands, and esoecially his physicality. He has more yards after the catch than any receiver....awesome kid..
Damn man, can we pitch in and buy you a better mic lol you sound underwater as hell or like you’re recording from an XBOX360 party chat lol That being said, thanks for your breakdowns man, always a treat to see your videos in my RU-vid feed🤙🏽🏈
Baldy, I would give anything if my Jets could find a Cooper Kupp at 10 in this yrs draft. I love this kid. Like always Baldy, gr8 job breaking down the plays. Thank you for your hard work.
Hey @Rey Steffani - your Jets could find the next Gandalf in the draft - but once he gets into that j-e-t-s mindset/roster, homie will still be playing for the Shire as a fool of a took against the Sauron's of the league, break dancing like an old hoe at the top of an ivory tower. Just a dose a reality my guy. As a Jets fan, you are legally obligated to get them as often as possible. Sorry I had to be the one.
Around WK 14-15 Kupp made some comments regarding his record breaking pace and kinda the sanctity of those in a 16 game season. The Rams could have fed him 5 -10 more receptions and he would have gotten a all time most receptions in a yr record. I feel like he didn't want it like that at all. He's pretty rare that way
Thanks NFL for continuing to add content like this even in the off-season. One suggestion though: could you get Baldy a mic that isn't a potato for the next one? Other than the high tater levels and low clarity of the audio on this video, it was great to check out.
so slanted to a qb..yes rodgers and brady had good years...But Kupp with the triple crown had more yards and receptions than any receiver ever. How is that not the mvp...
@@wayneegli8379 I take Brady over Rodgers too, even though I think Rodgers is more talented, but I still take Cupp over anyone else. I think the super bowl kind of proved it
YES!!! It’s MVP. Not MVQB. Kupp was far more valuable than a guy that throws the ball away more than anybody in the league. And to your point. Everyone in the stadium, everyone watching at home knew that Stafford was looking for kupp. Cincinnati couldn’t cover him. Everyone knew he was getting the ball the last play. They couldn’t cover him
I would be more inclined to watch Baldy breakdowns if he had a better mic. C'mon it's 2022. Give him a better mic. This is inexcusable production level from the person who is in charge of uploading this to the NFL channel.
Sadly, they only had a spare potato for him so he made due with what he had on hand. Baldy probably spits so much when he talks that potato had a few more eyes the next time he went to make a video for the multi-billion dollar NFL.
The one time you actually made sense was when you were talking about the Titans not letting cup do anything. This is the way that we've been supporting me this should play him all year if they were seriously concerned and trying to stop them but they are not. They all seem to let him have one on one coverage in ideal spots
Unpopular opinion: Jerry rice’s 2002 season is the most impressive wr season of all time Getting 1200 yards when you’re 40 is literally unheard of, especially considering the second oldest 1000 yard receiver (ignoring rice himself when he was 39 LMAO) was 36…
@SholtzzzZ funny that when they asked D. Adams about who was one of the best receivers he said Kupp. They both played in west coast colleges and have been underestimated until they balled out and showed they're better than SEC guys.
No one covered him. He spent more than 65% of his snaps in the slot. Give any top WR those snaps and they’re outproducing him. You fans have more brain damage than the players.
I love Cooper Kupp & specifically his footwork which is what separates him from all other receivers in football, but this is a very misleading title! Randy Moss in 1998 was unquestionably the greatest yr of any receiver in NFL history!
Greatest rookie year? Sure. All-time year considering QB play? Sure. But (like a lot of 'great' receiving seasons) he feasts almost entirely on good yds/rec (as well as TD share). I wasn't alive to watch, but I don't see any statistical evidence that moss was close to the possession receiver Kupp is. Also, Kupp still had a far better statistical season by pretty much every metric, and had a historic postseason run as well, unlike moss.
Yall can't argue with stats it literally is right their he had the greatest WR season ever whether u like it or not Won Triple Crown Won Super Bowl Won SB MVP Won OPOY No receiver has done that in a single season ever
@@chriswolf1089 The problem w/ all of this is they are essentially flash in the pan for lack of a better term. Take Rice 87, he catches 22TD in 12gm, but is just solid in other statistical categories. Every receiving season you mentioned each had multiple games sub 50 yards. Kupp is the greatest season because he's so much more consistent in terms of range of statistics, and from game to game. Kupp played 20 games this year, and was bad in 1. That 1 game was the only sub 90 yard game in the regular season. Excluding it his worst catch percentage all year was 69.2%, which would put him top 20 among WRs (many of whom got less than half the targets). Also, unlike every season you mentioned, Kupp has a case for 2nd greatest WR *postseason* all-time, behind Fitzgerald.

It’s super tough to make this claim without adequate advanced metrics for other eras including key aspects like drops, turnovers induced, separation, and after catch production. However if we’re going by the last decade or so this definitely is one of the better performances I’ve seen.
He was either the leader, or top 3 in everything you just mentioned + Offensive player of the year + Triple Crown + Super Bowl MVP + broke multiple WR records. You're just hating on the man at this point by playing him down like this.
@@jimmytwotimes1940 Those stats were not recorded before the 2010s. So it’s tough to compare it to Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, or Bob Hayes. It’s like recording modern rebounding and block stats to Wilt Chamberlain & Bill Russell. Some older edge rushers don’t even have sacks recorded.
how many billions u guys make per year, and THIS is the audio quality you upload to an official video?! this sounds like he called in on an old land line and recorded it into somebody's answering machine, and then that tape got bootlegged a few thousand times before finally digitizing it...
For real. Watched him since his last season at EW, heard about some white dude breaking records. I'm not surprised at all about what he's been doing. My dude was getting nearly 1000 yards for a season coming off the bench when he first came in.
Stafford had been the quarterback of the TWO best receiving years ever by a receiver in my opinion. We definitely can’t forget about MEGATRON IN 2012 tho! That man was invincible, I think better than kupp was this year🤷🏻♂️
Why I say Kupps season was better in 4 games Kupp was either out the game or just blocking in the 4th quarter which really left a lot of yards out there. In 2012 a lot of the lions games they were behind and had to throw all game.
He puts the Jake brake on! BLAP-BLAP-BLUP-BLUP- blup-blop-blop.....blop..... blop.... coming down the Grapevine, and why not? Or Donner, or Cabbage, the Rock, the Sisters, Wyatt do they call the one in Utah.... coming into Salt Lake, or the one into Albuquerque....etc....
Yeah Baldy - can you use a different Michael next time please? The last one was jerking you off too loud and it made the quality of your voice on that potato of a mic, sound poor.
@@jimmytwotimes1940 I'm neither of them. Definitely not soft I'll slap you in REAL LIFE. Definitely athletic played sports my whole life. Fasho ain no girl.
How is this the greatest season without acknowledging that one more game was added to the regular season? We are going to likely see more records getting broken now, because the players have one more game. Adrian Peterson would have likely broken Eric Dickerson's record if he had one more game.
He didn’t break the record for the season. If he did, an asterisk is next to it for sure as you say, for the extra game. BUT - when you combine season and playoffs, he’s almost 500 yards clear of the next best… so even with the extra game, it’s astonishing. Then, take away the exact numbers completely and just saying he’s triple crown, OPOY, and Super Bowl MVP, and it’s the best offensive season ever. Regardless of numbers.
Doesn't matter if he had it or not he still would've had the most yards in a season by a receiver in regular season plus postseason by 400 yards, dumb reason, whether u like it or not he had the greatest wide receiver season ever
I don't argue with people like yall. Numbers are not everything. Calvin Johnson had almost 2000 yards literally being the only target. No adjustments. No other guy that went down. No running game. No defense. No other all star WR on the other side. He had 329 yards in a game. Caught a game winner over 3 defenders AND he was running crisp routes. Dude was starting off the line with 2 defenders right in front of I'm. No fancy "disguise " coverages that don't work. Oh and he did it in 16 games. Antonio Brown. Steve Smith the other triple crown WR did it with Jake Delhomme throwing him the football while also not having anyone else to draw coverage. Yall casuals. No shade to Kupp. He's that guy. But chill lol
I love Cooper Kupp but he did not have the best season ever. Jerry Rice did when he scored 23 touchdowns in a 12 game season (22 receiving, one rushing).
Jerry never got the Triple Crown, yards from scrimmage record, most games with 90+ yards, Super Bowl MVP, OP of the year ALL in one year. You're simply a hater who can't let go of the past 🤷🏽♂️
@@incomeGlitch both tackles false started? Wtf does that even mean? Do you even follow football? Honest question. Btw you understand had they not given that free 73yd touchdown to Higgins, the Rams wouldn’t have even needed the final drive so already your argument is completely irrelevant and holds no water.
