Hi JOHN I already know that when I use a softbox and umbrella, I should feather the light. Now I have this question, I have a Godox PL90 and it is a parabolic softbox and I need to shoot in location, shall I point the light directly as this is a parabolic softbox? Please let me know if you made a video about if before and if I missed it.
When I tested a parabolic softbox with two layers of diffusion, I found that it was slightly more directional that a shallow softbox. Given that it wasn't that different I would assume feathering it would be about the same. However, when you take fabric out of parabolic reflectors feathering them doesn't work.
