That's incredible, congrats! Love your aesthetic and vibe. I'm playing with the idea of starting a lux candle business in Canada 🇨🇦 and you guys are my fav for inspo!
Hi again, what size are your cans and what size are the bags I’ve been looking all over for them on Amazon and eBay and I can’t find them please help thank you
Another great video, thanks for sharing all these insights. You mentioned that it took you about 5 months to set up the business - I'm curious was that 5 months of full-time planning and research, or were you planning the business while working at other jobs? Aldo, did that 5 months include all your candle testing?
5 months was planning the business whilst running our other company which was a social media/content creation agency. It included things like website, branding, candle testing, product photography, logistics, shipping - everything to make sure we were ready for launch day!
Very informative video. I'm from Melbourne👋 What do PR companies help for, I would love to know about this and how you approach influencers.. thank you. Great video
Hello. I know this is not related to this video, but how do you center your wick when sticking it to the bottom of the tin can? Do you have any tool aside from the wick centering tool that you place on the lid? Thank you.
Hi there, I hope you are both well! Do you use a glue gun and if so, what temperature does it operate at? I am nervous to buy the high temperature glue guns that go up to 193 degree C /380 degree F because they can give third degree burns. Low temperature glue guns (170 - 250 degrees F) still burn but are not hospital trip burns. One big youtuber said that the high temperature glue guns are the ones to get, but even then he said the wicks can occasionally come loose. He said stickers are not reliable. But I have seen most RU-vidrs just using stickers, so am confused why some people need extreme glue and others don't. What would you both recommend?
Hi! We just use stickums which are the stickers to hold the wick in place. We've never heard of using glue guns and wouldn't recommend them because they are hard to use and can cause injury! We don't have any issues with stickums and they are very cost effective, so we'd recommend using that :)
@@sent.studio Thanks, I'll definitely use stickers. I asked some other channels and they said the same as you. They may stick a bit better to tin than glass but still, most people have success. What made me doubt was a video by Standley Handcrafted, he said stickers come loose a lot due to the wax. He recommended high temp heat gun (he even said 1 in 30 or 40 come loose with this) or even better a certain brand of gasket glue, which sets like cement. I don't know if he was sponsored, but it puzzles me why he has issues when nearly all other channels do fine with stickers. Anyway, thanks again!
@@sent.studio Hi, yet another question if you don't mind! Have you seen the 'EZ Wick Setter (multi wick)'? For centering wicks and pressing them down. I'm not sure if I need one. Is it easy enough just to stick them in the right place without any tools? I might just get a metal straw for pressing them down. What do you think?
Thank you for all the precious advice you put in this video. I am planning to start my own business and you guys are such an inspiration! 🩵 May I ask you if you also registered your name / logo as trademark? Keep the great work up 🎉 love your candles and overall vibe
Your videos are by far my favorite for the candle-making peeps! Your effort in making those videos is really appreciated!!! Thanks a tonn!!! Just placed an order to try out your candle and I can't wait to receive it :)
WOW!!! Im still in the process of getting me and my daughter's self care business started. So far were at about 3.5k. I said I'd stopped spending at $2500 but now I'll stop at 4k.. haha At least you broke even so now it's only up from here. Congratulations.
I just found your channel and enjoy the content in this video; very informative!! I wanted to know regarding the influencers, if you had to pay them on top of sending your products? Thank you for any advice relating to influencer marketing.
So far we haven't done any unpaid influencer send outs! They have all been gifting with great results :) We'll be making a video on that in the next few weeks about our influencer strategy
This is inspiring, congrats!! How did you determine how much stock to start with? I love that you were able to buy enough to break even-- was this based on how much you believed you would sell on launch day?
We decided that we wanted to make about 30 of each scent to start off with. We had no idea how launch was going to be but we’re glad we did what we did! We also had a supplier issue where majority of our tins came damaged so we ordered emergency tins at a more expensive cost 😭
@@sent.studio Thanks for sharing! I've been trying to decide how many jars and bottles to purchase for my small business so this puts things into perspective. :O The damaged tins! I'm glad you both have been able to come out on top!
We grew hype 1 month before launch by going on socials and also having a pre-order! We're thinking of doing a video on some pre-launch strategies that worked for us 🤗
Thank you so much for the inspiring video and for being so transparent. Launching a candle business in HK and your videos are a life saviour. Huge congrats on your success :)
Hi ladies! I really liked watching your videos. I am planning to start my own small business and your videos helped me to plan where to start. Thanks a bunch!! Moreover, may I know what wick sustainer do you use for sample kit? Is it the same with the regular sized containers?
I made candles for the first time in the kitchen. It smells so much. How do you get rid of the scent candle from scented candles in the garage after making it?
Lots and lots of airflow! We try to have the garage door open (even if it’s a bit), and we take lots of breaks in between to make sure we are getting lots of air. Unfortunately the scent stays if you’re making big quantities and there’s nothing much you can do about it
Thank you for this very informative vid! 🙂 Did you guys allot a budget for the testing phase or were you willing to keep spending until you were happy with the results?
This was the most informative video of candle making and I am so happy to see this video. I appreciate you for sharing this and very easy to understand. Thank you thank you thank you 🥰. And congratulations on evolving your channel and Sent.
@@sent.studio just wondering are you able to share your website designer contact.? Just for future reference and I loves your candle concept and designs hopefully I can have my mini candle making studio too in the future. 😜 can you also make a video in regards of how you set up.your business, where to get your label, insurance step by step process? Thanks a million.
Thank you! At the time it seemed like a lot because we didn't know the full extent of costs, but now it puts everything into perspective and we definitely wouldn't change it!
