It's the Start of a new Renovation journey for the Swain family, taken on this beautiful old abandoned barn. In this episode the family start a new project !!!! Ohhh exciting…..
So the foundations are dug back up, and everything gets prepared for the cement coming for the foundation of the garage!

This is why I tune in..to see the work in progress. You are learning that this is what makes the blogs interesting. In the States we when we pour concrete, we are required to put a form up into which the concrete is poured. we cannot just dig a trench and pour concrete into it.

Wow that's some size of a garage .You have done wonders getting all this ready in such a short period of time .I had a laugh out loud moment when Mark and William were doing the water pipe.William being spurred on by mum .x Lovely to see Jacob helping too with both the concrete and the water 😁 .Thanks everyone .x

Its just amazing how hard lanscaping ( and also green sculpting of the trees !) Really showcases these beautiful old buildings . Is it how they once looked maybe ? Or just that you can really see them properly?

Wow, making progress fast. Any leftover cakes Tanya? I made 2 tropical banana loaves last night. My hubby and our neighbor who lost her hubby last Xmas loves them. The boys waterway was cute.❤

Those footers are great! Look like you have done about 1 metre (3 feet). I'm guessing your frost line is about 18 inches there so you got a solid foundation. I hate that here the frost line is anywhere from 6 to 8 feet - taller than me LOL

If you want the garage wall to be flush with the front wall of the barn, shouldn't your trench go past the front wall to allow for the footing, or do you ot build footings?

I c now how you are building. It's very different from here in Canada, but I guess it's because you don't have the freezing in winter like we do.
