After waiting for weeks and weeks to break in the TraxxasRevo 3.3, I finally got my chance yesterday! The weather was perfect, no clouds in the sky, and man was i ready to finally break out this nitro truck and get going on it!
Follow me in my latest VBlog as i take the Revo 3.3 out on adventure to break in the motor. All thought i only got 4 tanks done half way threw the day. I was able to finish up the last tank later that afternoon. After i had finished painting up some RC bodies for a customer.
I hope you guys enjoy! Im aiming to get out later this week and finally get this truck out bashing and ripping up the dirt!

Whats up! I just want to say that I have been watching your videos a lot lately and enjoyed every single one of them. I am from the Pacific Island of Guam and have been in the RC hobby since 1986, I mostly fly RC helicopters and giant scale airplanes. Just recently I brought back to life my Traxxas Revo 3.3 trucks and in the process of rebuilding 3 more. Keep up the awesome videos brother!

Z.A.K. RC Thank you for your informed reply and I'm sure your intentions were not to come across as if you were talking to your child or a friend but I think you need to take a second and think before you type! By all means I am happy you are passionate about the hobby and it seems you know a little bit about the hobby but the next you feel need to tell someone what to do please try and think there is always someone who knows more than you. I've been in this hobby for well over 30 yrs and I think its safe to say it is possible for someone (that would be me) to have a bad experience with a product and I also believe in my right to express my opinion as you did as well. I respect your opinion but like I said before think before you type my friend and working at a hobby shop doesn't mean you have the know it all to tell me to "Use It"!

Z.A.K. RC One last thing...... Why do you a huge box of broken 3.3's? Are their any other types of nitro motors in that box?

I’d hope to get a video to as close as yours. I’ll get there eventually. Hey, what’s up with this truck as of now? Finished the breaking in process? I’d like to see an update video! Love the nitros, and my T-Maxx has been treating me decently. I’ve run 2 1/2 gallons through it, and now it’s getting to where it’ll run upon start up, and act normally, you know, I’ll run it for a good while, then accidentally stall it, then it won’t restart. The catch is, I’ve messed with all possible carb settings, no difference. Time for a rebuild? I might be looking at purchasing a new truck of some sort a little later, as kind of like a back up rc too, but after the rebuild (if it needs it).

Hey nice videos. I just got myself a new revo 3.3. Can you recommend a good tool list for working on and tuning these things? getting my shop setup for an RC work bench. Also how come you used a temperature gun to measure your engine heat instead of using the trax link? Mine came with the app but I don’t have time to break it in until the weekend so I haven’t tried it myself. Does the app not work without extra parts or something? Thanks and keep up the solid video! I was wondering if it had to be broken in all at the same session, while I'm sure it's easier, good to know it can be spread apart some. Did you do the after run procedure after the 4th run or after completing the break-in since it ended up being the same day?

great video man, I just started to get back into rc. the last one I had was a nitro rustler. Was combing through RU-vid for revo 3.3 videos and saw your video ever since I have been a fan of your channel. keep up the great work with the revo. Also looking forward to the e-revo 1/16 scale videos since that will be my first electric rig since I had the nitro rustler. again keep up the great videos man!!

I tried to break in my revo 3.3 and by the third tank it got stuck in reverse. Everytime i turn it on its stuck in reverse.

Had a question on breaking in the revos, Is it ok to do it on a flat dirt stretch instead of asphalt?

The RC Garage does not matter. Just need a good enough stretch of property to break it in

I have one too. I don't have time to break it in right now. Will letting a new engine sit a few months harm it? I don't think it will.

baixa 1.5v alta 4.10v run this setup and it will go well, it lightens the spring of the second gear is the hole!!! just 10% to the left,and the second gear is already in. regrads

Would you recommend the revo 3.3 as a first nitro rc?

If you have experience with RC's then yes. it will be fine. Otherwise look for an electric first. nitro for your very first RC may get you a bit frustrated.

Man i should of went with electric lol , but i just bought my revo 3.3 got thrw with the 4 th tank still need the fifth tank to break it in, and then tune it but its been a pain in the ass, but then again im a beginner aswell but i think im gona take my truck in to my local hobby shop and get some pointers and tips and help case i really do need it.! Ive ssen plenty videos on here aswell but still having touble i guess lol.!!😒 lol and tips or help you can offer bud!???

I bought my revo used and I can't get it to do wheelies!!??? No matter what I try maybe the motor is tried? Doesn't sound like the clutch is slipping either

Its very possible its loss compression. However it also could be too rich. i ran into that a wile back with mine found it was a bit to much on the rich side. Now it wheelies almost every time i try.

Also. I never had much trouble with 3.3 engines. I hear a lot of hating on these things. I do want to put an OS engine in it eventually.

DeviousRC 66 Ill definitely watch it since everytime I or someone else who knocks Traxxas for anything is like how dare you say anything bad about Traxxas. 😈😱😁 Make sure Z. A. K. watches. Seriously I bought a few back in the day when Traxxas was really the only co putting out mass produced nitros and hobby shops only carried their replacement parts. Now you can get anything for my Losi 5, Axial SCX 1 & 2, HPI 5SC, HPI BAJA 5B and so on. Looking forward to seeing the vid my friend.

you can adjust the shift point if I recall from when I had mine. but it definitely needs to be tuned correctly to be able to reach the RPM needed to engage 2nd gear.
