AEW making Chris Jericho their first World Champion was a smart decision. Now, we get to see all the hilarious promos that he will produce in the upcoming months lol.
Normally I would disagree but having Jericho be the first gives it instant legitimacy. If it was some indy guy, let's be real, no one would care. I don't think Jericho should hold it for super long, or you end up with Jarrett in TNA stuff, but i like Jericho being the first champ.
Jericho is great at reinventing himself. Has a real knack for knowing when to change it up. Not only that, but knows how to get it over with the crowd. That’s what makes him so great even at his age. Young wrestlers should take note.
Chris is an absolute genius for reinventing himself time and time again and it being acclaimed on so many levels, no amount of thanks is sufficient for the work this man has achieved from those early days of WCW through to now.
To the casual fan that aren't so into wrestling if aew put the belt on page they would never now who he is but Jericho is Jericho even casual know about him so is the right call to use him to promote the company and pull the trigger of a new batch of stars
