@@TORXGAMING Thanks mate. Yes that's the good thing about a magazine you can cram a lot more information into than a video. I am hoping that it will take off as I am getting too old to be travelling around Thailand on a motorbike making videos. 😂😂 😆

@@truincanada Hi I assume your talking about the DTV visa. Here's an answer that i sent to another subscriber a few days ago that might help you Cheers Ged I don't know much about the DTV visa as it's only just been released. As far as I can make out it is for digital nomads who want to make Thailand their base to work remotely and I am not sure if it covers retirees who want to spend significant time here. I did a Google search so see below what I found out. Keep in mind that what the Thai government says one day they sometimes do a U-turn the next so nothing is written in stone when it comes to Thailand rules. Perhaps you could contact the Thai embassy in London to see if the visa applies to retirees wanting to spend quality time here but not on the normal retirement visa. I hope that this helps. Cheers Ged Holders of the DTV may stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit and can extend the visa once per visit for a further 180 days. DTV holders can bring dependents with them on this visa, including children under 20 and spouses. The visa fee for the Thailand DTV Visa is 10,000 THB The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is a newly announced visa designed to support the government’s efforts to increase tourism in Thailand. It provides an incentive to foreigners that work remotely, colloquially referred to as “digital nomads”, to stay and work in Thailand for extended periods without immigration or tax concerns. If you successfully acquire a DTV, you will be rewarded with a 5-year multiple-entry visa and the right to stay in Thailand for a total of 180 days a year, with an option to extend for another 180 days. This is the perfect kind of visa if you’re looking to experience the Land of Smiles as a remote worker and earn income without the many restrictions and drawbacks of standard tourist visas. How Much Does a Thailand DTV Visa Cost? The Destination Thailand Visa costs 10,000 THB. Eligibility Requirements for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) While details regarding how to apply for a Destination Thailand Visa are still pending, some information on the requirements you need to fulfill has already been released. You need to meet the following eligibility requirements for the visa (subject to change): You must be at least 20 years old. You must have enough money to pay for the visa fee. You must prove that you possess at least 500,000 THB in your bank account to support your stay in the country. You must provide proof of employment with a registered company. If you’re a remote worker or digital nomad looking to maximize your journey while also having the option to work during your stay.

@@Per-OlofBrenegård Hi Per Olaf. Thanks I feel that I need to do something different as I am getting too old to do a RU-vid channel as it is very time consuming and frustrating sometimes. Hopefully the magazine will go ok and it will give me something to do in my retirement. Thanks for your support I appreciate it. Cheers Ged

$2.99 month is damn near $36 a year, so pre-paid $24 is a 33% discount not 30%!

@@Basman59 Thanks for letting me know I will make a note for the next video I do about the magazine. I was never very good at math, most lessons would find me standing in the corner with a dunce cap on my head 😂😂

Hi Ged, good luck with the new venture. I think even more people will be seriously considering moving to Asia now. Europe and Western countries are becoming worse and worse. The Uk now has a government which is potentially even worse than the last. There will be no freedoms left soon.

@@TravellingMan20 Hi Brian. Yes I agree the world is changing dramatically. What were once considered affluent progressive countries are going pear shaped and the so-called undeveloped countries are rising. I'm glad that I left the UK when I did because what I see of it now scares me. To think all of those servicemen who died to preserve their country they must be turning over in their graves with what our countries have become. Cheers Ged Cheers Ged

@@GaleStephen Hi Steve. I'm disappointed that you were in Hua Hin a few weeks ago and arranged for us to meet but then dropped off the radar after you went to PKK. I would have liked to have met you and talked about people that we both might have known in the Boro. But that's the problem with RU-vid You're only as good as your last video and easily forgotten. Take care

@@thailandmyland...retiringd2351 hi ged ,actually I did contact you when I got back from ao manao on the Thursday to say I will wait for you to confirm where and when we could meet up on the Sunday for lunch . I never heard anything back so assumed you must be busy getting your new magazine organised. I was looking forward to putting you on my phone with a close family friend and part of the large extended hogg family in the boro . Never mind . I'm back in the boro now, I learnt lots on my trip, my mate came down from chiang mai for 4 days which was great . I'm sure our paths will cross ged , just unfortunate this time round . @@GaleStephen Hi Steve. I never received your message unfortunately as I was looking forward to meeting you and catching up on what was going on back in the Boro. I didn't mean to offend you it's just that I get a lot of people contacting me for advice and information and then promise to meet up when they get here but I get put on the back burner when they arrive in Thailand and start enjoying themselves. In hindsight I should have given you an email address to contact me on. You can contact me anytime through my new website theretireinthailandmagazine@outlook.com Hopefully it won't be too long before you return. Cheers Ged
