In a dramatic development, four drug dealers from Dimapur and Lahorijan have reportedly contracted an unidentified person to assassinate Nehal Ahmed, a Village Defense Party (VDP) member in Lahorijan. According to sources, Nehal Ahmed has named Anwar Islam, Sahabul Islam, Izazul Islam, and Saddam Islam as the individuals behind the plot. The drug dealers are allegedly motivated by resentment towards Nehal due to his active role in tackling drug trafficking with the Assam Police. The threat against Nehal follows a recent incident where he alerted the police about a suspected drug supply operation. This led to the arrest of Sahabul Islam and his associate, who were caught red-handed with SF Sunflower drugs. Nehal had filed an FIR at Khatkhati Police Station.
