The Devs after seeing this: So, any solutions to dealing with players simply floating out of huggy’s reach? Whoever is in charge of QA: What if we made it so Huggy could just yeet himself like 40 feet up right to the player? Devs: That would cause so many heart attacks!...but I like it!
So he waits and waits because Huggy knows you have to leap down and run through there anyways, so he decides to mess with you. This is my head cannon and no one can stop me
I think it's either good ol tracking or billboarding meaning that huggies head acts more like an image keeping the same angle regardless of where you stand
I really hope they keep this like physiques based gameplay throughout the entire thing, it'd give the final product huge speedrunning potential, AND give them a chance to put in some uniques scares for exploits they predict (for example if huggie just started to reach up at you, or even climb, little things for him to react with whenever the player decides to get creative)

He's just standing there. _Menacingly_ I like to assume he knows he can chase the player. But you gotta realise the only way you can progress is through the vents. So he's just waiting. You gotta come back down eventually.
It's actually kinda interesting Most games would probably have the monster rub up against the walls when you go outside their range but here he just... Stops. Entirely.
I think it may be due to the fact the animation in all of the scenes in this are scripted. Like when he ducks his head under the archway, that was scripted, so it looks cleaner. So I think that he just stops because you're outside of his pathfinding, so he doesn't know where to go, and so he just freezes as the animation doesn't have anything to do.
Fun fact: you can get out of Huggy's pathfinding without breaking out of bounds. There's a bit of area in the assembly line vent, before the door shuts behind you, that he can't reach but is still visible.
@@aboredprophet8128 I could see him thinking that because he literally hunts you for fun, if you watched mat pat’s video you’d know he doesn’t really need to eat people he just hunts them for fun so this fits him a lot lol.
@@MS-jj4vk matpat’s theories are kind of controversial for being cringe and sometimes wrong (and he’s self aware about that) but honestly, the theory makes some sense. Not sure if we want to include the trailer evidence as true evidence

I think this all has to do with how the scene plays out. Once you get to the vent, the door slams shut. That's what we hear banging so loudly. The trigger is bugging out. To prevent huggy from clipping the wall to chase you, not only can his pathfinder not go through walls, it stops entirely for the new vent huggy to start triggering.
@@miIkchocoIate once the player is out of bounds for Huggy, the game pauses him. Your supposed to be in the vent when that happens so that's what the slamming was.
@@miIkchocoIate the game thinks the player is in the vents so huggy can’t chase the player anymore because the game thinks the player is in the vents. But because the player isn’t actually in the vents the vent just keeps on slamming itself. I think I got it right but I don’t really understand either to be honest
@@vikkp So the player is supposed to trigger the Huggy we see here to chase you. Having nowhere to go, the player enters the vents which triggers the vent Huggy which does the crawling animation and stuff. However, this person discovered that it's not the player entering the vent that triggers the banging sound, it's the pause of the initial Huggy who couldn't detect them anymore since they were out of bounds.
The reason it does that is because Huggy is set to a certain script that makes his head always look at the player as it is following them. But in this case, huggy glitched out. But his head would still be looking at the player.

Imagine instead of slowly walking throughout, over time it would get faster and faster, going from walking to speed walking to full on sprinting. This mechanic would be used so that players don’t waste time and go into the vents immediately
The reason huggy walks is most likely to toy with you though. He is extremely intelligent, and does not need to eat to survive. But he attacks anyway. He is so intelligent he CHOOSES to toy with the player and CHOOSES to kill, he does not require sustenance like I said.
@@sanstheskeleton2141 To me, that makes him worse. He isn’t like the baddies in say, FNaF, who kill you to be free and get back at their murderer, he does it for fun, because he can. That’s makes him, in my opinion, much more intimidating.
In Deltarune before the update, you could use a glitch to double the amount of bullets you could shoot at Spamton. After the update, Spamton can now become enraged and make his attacks harder.
After Huggy squeezed himself into those tunnels honestly he’s more than capable of grabbing the player or climbing up. Maybe him staring while standing is just him playing along. Usually if you glitched a game like this the head wouldn’t still be constantly looking at the player.
The thing is, he has a set animation, and his head is rigged to automatically look at the player. If you glitch the game while you're in the vents, you can get behind Huggy and trigger his running animation. He'll just go forward of course, but you'll notice that his head is still facing you... I think it's some sort of gimmick to pull off the "I'm being watched" feeling.
