He has symptoms of a short cold, not dying on a respirator, thanks to vaccine. You're much less likely to get covid when vaccinated but it's not 100%. It slows the spread, not stops it.

I had four shots, got covid. The last shot made me sick for four days, the one before that made me sick two days. I’m hesitant to get anymore shots for covid but I know when I had covid the shots protected my lungs. I had all the symptoms except one. So thankful that I had absolutely no inability to breathe. Covid was bad but I didn’t end up on a ventilator even though I’m old. So I know the shots worked for me but hate to willingly go and make myself sick again by getting anymore of them. So I’m conflicted.

@@glens0r The only time I lost my taste when I was on chemo. Everything tasted like wet cardboard to me. I hated that because I LOVE food, especially Asian (Thai is my favorite), and Middle Eastern. I would really miss tasting all the layers and depth of the flavors.

Covid has been going back around at my job since last week. I know 5 co workers who were out sick with it. We have close to 200 employees in this building. A nurse was the first to catch it, this time. This is the 3rd time since 2020 that covid has spread at work. We provide services in mental health as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

@@moddie6783 I’ve heard a couple of the RU-vidrs I listen to say they have it, either again or for the first time. Sounds like it’s picking up steam again. I don’t go out much, but I’ll start wearing my mask again if and when I do. I got lucky the first time around, so I’m hoping a mask will protect me again, combined with another vaccine and staying away from people as much as possible. I’m old and getting fragile, plus I’m not well to begin with, so I don’t want to take any chances if I can help it. If I get sick with it, I just hope it takes me fast. At my age, I’m not afraid of dying, I just don’t want a lot of pain or misery, as most people don’t, so fast would be good.
