Stevenson is an accurate boxer with fast hands who knows how to maintain distance. His strategy is always the same. Simply to bait his opponent to punch, back out and outscore with quick counters. If that style works for you, great, but saying people that don’t care for it, don’t know boxing, is bs. Apparently for many, it’s boring. Stevenson doesn’t take risks. When he does get hit solidly, he’s nowhere near the pocket for the rest of the match. You can be a good boxer and not fun to watch. But that combo won’t make you a ppv draw. Elite fighters have no interest in boxing him because it’s hard to look good chasing him around the ring. His words don’t match his style. He’s not f#cking anybody up, he isn’t beating the sh!t outta anyone. He’s gonna outscore you over the course of 12rds. When there’s a clear gap in talent between Stevenson and the other guy, paying fans want to see him take a risk and get him outta there. Or at least try. He’s shown that he’s not willing to do that at 135lb but gets mad when people say he’s boring. Again, you can be a good boxer and not entertaining. That’s what he is at 135. But paying fans know when you’re content to counter and outscore. They know when they’re tired of seeing the same thing every round. They know when they’re getting sleepy. They know when they’ve wasted their time and money.
You know what the best defense is... not fighting at all. Why get in the ring if you're not there to beat people up? Take that feminine ass mindset somewhere else.

It's blatantly obvious what Shakurs deal is. He absolutely does NOT fight like an amateur. He is an elite boxer that has no confidence in his power anymore. He's known as the best "defensive boxer" since Mayweather so 🤷🏿♂️ don't expect killer ferocious KO's but expect someone who will 💯 box you and hit you more than you hit him. I actually like watching the phases and seeing how his IQ works in the ring. Not the last fight but last night was actually genius and just like Mayweather, he makes hard fights look boring

Artem was pressing the action. It was SHAKUR who was laying back and NOT PRESSING THE ACTION himself, choosing to instead counter all night. He doesn't take risks at all, and that's what people hate about his style.
Skahur the only fighter I watch that can win every round and still somehow show no heart. He's afraid of getting hit which is why he's never aggressive. He never tries to impose his will like others do.

A fighter being boring doesn’t negate his accomplishments or greatness, mayweather wasn’t the most entertaining fighter or a big puncher at least in the 2nd half of his career but the world still wanted to see him fight and he dominated the sport, same with shakur, he’s not the most powerful guy or entertaining but he’s a winner and that’s all that matters, he knows how to win.

You were spot on in my opinion Bizz! If you want to see a pure boxing elegance Shakur is a good watch but folks will not be entertained. Folks pay for toe to toe exchanges. Shakur plays the distance and looks for counters. That's fine but you have to get in the pocket more and there was no excuse after the 6th round. He should have gotten a KO with a string of solid combinations but it comes with a risk he is not willing to take sadly. He will not know how great he can be without taking those risks especially when it's clear his opp is depleted with no adjustments.

Fighting a few weeks after Tank also doesn’t help. We have a side by side comparison basically. Shakur can’t set traps or setup big shots. Also he’s cautious to his own detriment , he’ll have someone he’s levels above hurt but won’t risk getting hit to finish the job.

I do agree with you bizz on Shakurs tenacity. If he had the tenacity he would be my #1. He is my #1 as far as his abilities. Shakur has got to start fighting the higher tier fighters/champions and put on the same performances. I love the brawls but I also love seeing great Boxing skills as well. I just love boxing.
