This kid was playing so well in his rookie year, that we were debating who’s better him or Jalen Johnson. Once he made the comment about Beyoncé music being of the devil, everything changed. He was out a month after for so called personal reasons. He never got a chance to play after that. He went from being one of the surprises as a rookie to can’t get on the court on a bad team.

Atlanta is where draft prospects go to die. This kid was a deadly shooter at Duke and they just wasted his potential. When they got rid of Budenholzer (I think) as their coach it was the beginning of the end. I hope he grabs this opportunity tightly and not let go because Ime will put him in the best position to succeed.

Atlanta doesn't have enough player mindset people on there management team we have about 5 players that look like they related Trey ,the guy last year and this guy all look alike, just hight difference

I agree with you, but he hasn't had a chance playing time to prove himself, so other teams aren't going to give you a first rounder for him, and you may be lucky that someone was willing to give up a second round pic for him. I can understand why fans feel AJ was just given away...but he was slated to make almost $5M next year...we just added another wing, his shot really fell off this season, and his defense never came around. He hasn't played any sort of minutes under Quinn Synder. So the fact we got something for him is pretty big. There weren't going to be minutes available to rebuild his value.

AJ to me seem to be a productive player. He just didn't get any time under the current coach. What tends to happen with the Hawks. They give up certain players. They go to other teams and get rings or really shine. I've been a Hawks fan since 1986. Sometimes I really feel like jumping ship. I personally would have gotten Alex, but like a lot of other people. I'm on the outside looking at. I never played professional basketball, just recreational.
